A 14 episode 2002 U.S. TV series set 500 years in the future (that was canceled before the end of the first season, but is now available on DVD) concerning the exploits of the captain and crew of the independent Firefly class transport ship Serenity. Recently (2005), the movie Serenity, based on the TV series, was released.
