Biography

The new Supergirl in Superman v2 #192.

Mia

Originally, she was an ordinary human from a future controlled by the Futuresmiths under the direction of Brainiac as part of a gambit to save himself following the defeat of Brainiac 13. To that end, he captured a young woman named Mia and implanted an nano-tech virus containing himself within the girl to be reborn in the future. The Futuresmiths then grafted a genetic graft of Superman taken by Amok which was merged with Mia thus transforming her biologically into the daughter of Kal-El. A personality was created known as Cir-El who was sent into the past where she unwittingly spread the nano-virus in an effort to alter the future per his designs. The ultimate goal of Brainiac 12 was to have a body created for himself and allow him to take control of the past. (Superman v2 #200)

The Futuresmiths came to empower an agent in the present called Amok and tasked him with acquiring a hair sample from Superman. With this accomplished, they awoke Cir-El in the present day where they told her that she was Supergirl. (Superman: The 10¢ Adventure v1 #1) She wanted to meet her father Superman but the Futuresmiths prevented her from doing so and told her that she could only do so at the appointed time. (Superman v2 #190) From their headquarters, she came to witness her father saving the world from another threat. (Superman v2 #191) They later gave her permission to reveal herself to the world where she stopped the supervillain Radion from causing the Nerone nuclear facility to explode. She then revealed herself to be the daughter of Superman to the media before departing to stop another disaster event in the world. (Superman v2 #192)

After learning her origins, she decided to plunge herself into the time portal in an effort to erase herself to stop the disaster. (Superman v2 #200)

She joined Superboy and Natasha Irons in attacking the White House to confront President Luthor. During the attempt, she and Superboy were trapped in an automated defense system with Kryponite being used to remove her powers. (Superman/Batman v1 #5)
