Coldfire

Coldfire was originally a rookery sister of Goliath and the future Demona, Coldsteel and Coldstone. Coldsteel and Coldstone fought for her affections, but the future Coldfire came to love the latter. A bitter Coldsteel became determined to make her his. Coldfire was shattered in the massacre at Castle Wyvern, and her fragments remained there for over 1000 years.

In 1994, parts of Coldfire and Coldsteel were accidentally incorporated into the resurrected Coldstone; as a result, all three souls were resurrected, although Coldstone's was initially dominant. After a computer virus began attacking Coldstone's technological parts, control of the body began randomly shifting between the three gargoyle souls. Coldsteel made an effort to seize control of the body and make Coldfire his, but in the end the Coldstone body was rendered inoperative.

For the next several months, Coldfire and Coldstone lived together within their dormant cyborg body, happy to be together but disappointed by their barren environment. Coldsteel tried ineffectually to disrupt their lives, until freed to control Coldstone's body by Macbeth and Demona. Coldfire helped convince her mate (with some intervention by the Weird Sisters) that they should stop Coldsteel. However, as a result, Coldstone remained dominant while Coldsteel and Coldfire held each other at bay.

Coldstone fled to the Himalayas, where he was eventually found by David Xanatos. Taken back to Manhattan, Xanatos had two robot bodies- Coldsteel and Coldfire- constructed to house Coldstone's extra souls. Thanks to Puck, Coldfire found herself briefly in Angela's body, then in the robotic body (armed with flamethrowers in her hands and rocket-assisted flight). Coldstone and Coldfire said brief goodbyes before leaving in pursuit of Coldsteel.

Greg Weisman's Master Plan

In Greg Weisman's Master Plan, Coldstone and Coldfire would have eventually rejoined the Manhattan Clan. Coldfire was also a more spiritual gargoyle than most, almost priestly.

In story scripts, Coldfire was referred to as Desdemona, but she was never named in the series until she moved into the Coldfire body.
