History
One such system was established at a backwater world called Merovis where it was situated at the Merovis Prime in the Iota Quadrant at the Kree facility. Amongst its minds included two Kree and the master of the planet Zenn-La who had recently been captured by the Kree Empire. The trio later served as a planetary governor for the Merovis mining colony. This involved administering over the genetically engineered Troll people who labored to mine an ore used to create shock collars. However, the Zenn-La master used his mental discipline to speak through the collars to the Trolls but they never understood his messages. It was only the arrival of the Silver Surfer who was fitted with a collar did he learn of his master. After arriving at the Kree outpost, he encountered the Combined Intelligence and learnt his master had been incorporated into the computer system. At the time, the Trolls were freed from the collars and the Intelligence had fired an energy blast at the colony to destroy it but the aid of the master allowed it to be deflected. Upon stopping it, the Combined Intelligence self destructed to prevent capture whereupon the minds that composed it were seemingly killed.
Overview
A Combined Intelligence was an organic computer brain system created by the Kree race. In appearance, it resembled a greenish organic mass vaguely resembling three brain-like structures that were connected by organic tendrils to machines in the ceiling. These machine systems were developed as advanced computers that were able to control various devices. These ranged from tractor beams to computer screens as well as being linked to slave collars. Through this latter link, the Combined Intelligence was able to generate pain within the bearers of these shock collars as a form of punishment for their slave workers. In addition, their connection to a structures equipment allowed them access to any weapon systems in a facility. A Combined Intelligence was typically housed by the mental personalities of living beings with three individuals occupying these computers that were able to generate a holographic appearance to represent them. These devices were installed at bases and operated as governors thus allowing the Kree to leave the control of slave bases being done so remotely with little active personnel being deployed.
Notes
- The concept of the Combined Intelligence seems to resemble a smaller scaled version of the Supreme Intelligence.
