Dark Powers

The Dark Powers are the enigmatic masters of Ravenloft. Their motives and nature are unknown, save that they pluck beings from across the Prime Material and Inner Planes to enter the Realm of Dread. The Dark Powers simultaneously reward and punish evil in their world. Many speculate as to why, but few have any serious idea.

Comments

The Ravenloft novel Lord of the Necropolis defined the Dark Powers as malevolent beings from the Negative Energy Plane. However, this book was declared non-canon.
