Biography
Darla Deering
When she was fourteen years old, she said that she got her first recording contract. This led to her music career where she had seven number one hits with two being gold and one platinum records by the time she was eighteen years old. Darla was nineteen years old when she won her Grammy Award and ever since she could drive she took home every video music award that MTV had nominated for her. (FF v2 #7)
Darla at some point came to meet Johnny Storm with the two dating and having a relationship. (FF v2 #1) The pair were known to had been going out for six months where she talked to Johnny about her career. (Fantastic Four v4 #2) She attended a Latverian art show with Johnny Storm as his date during the event. (Marvel NOW! Point One v1 #1) Storm later took her to a private diner in a bubble in the Negative Zone where he gave her his direct number as he liked her. (Fantastic Four v4 #1)
Whilst waiting for their return, they found that the Fantastic Four were missing somewhere in their journey and the Future Foundation did not know where they were in the universe. This led to Darla having to be part of the new Fantastic Four who were forced to help protect the city when the Mole Man attacked the surface. Without any abilities, Darla could not participate in the fight until Dragon Man provided her the Thing Suit to provide her with powers. The team then had her belongings moved to the Baxter Building though Darla was overwhelmed by the events and simply wanted to go home as she felt she had no business being a superhero. (FF v2 #2) Darla felt very guilty afterwards as she felt she was a coward and a fake with her frequently crying over the next few days over her actions. Scott Lang sent flowers to her and a note with the intention of convincing her to re-join the team. As Ant-Man, he was shrunk among the gifts when Darla received another package from the Yancy Street Gang that was a bomb prank designed to viscous liquid over her. Scott helped stop it from hitting her entirely with the Yancy Street Gang calling Darla a fake for replacing the real Thing before they escaped the scene. Both Darla and Scott pursued the intruders but lost them in the crowd as new year celebrations were made outside by civilians. Lang then convinced Deering to re-join the Future Foundation as this was the last wish of the Fantastic Four. Darla was convinced with Scott stating that their next mission was to end the threat of Doctor Doom. (FF v2 #3)

Personality and attributes
In appearance, Darla Deering was a human Caucasian female with a slender, highly curvaceous build and fair skin. She possessed long, vibrant platinum-blonde hair styled in voluminous, high-fashion waves that fell past her shoulders, paired with prominent blue eyes and highly expressive, camera-ready facial features fitting her pop star status. When operating in her superhero persona as Miss Thing, her specialized combat armor consisted of an advanced, mechanical exo-suit constructed entirely of thick, rocky orange synthetic plates designed to exactly replicate the physical aesthetic of the Thing. The heavy, hollow exo-suit opened down the center to allow her to step inside, encasing her body from the neck down while leaving her head completely exposed. Underneath the armor, she wore a form-fitting blue and white technical crop top and short trunks emblazoned with a stylized "4" emblem. She did not wear a traditional superhero mask, tactical helmet, or heavy military ballistic gear, maintaining a highly distinct, mechanical, and pop-culture-themed presentation. (FF v2 #1)
Powers and abilities
Darla was an ordinary human being with no powers but had gained fame as a celebrity where she was a popular musician and singer that went on world tours. (Fantastic Four v4 #2) Darla Deering was a member of the human race and possessed no innate genetic mutations, supernatural curses, or alien enhancements in her base form. On a basic feats level, her standard human biology provided her with the physical strength, reflexes, and environmental durability standard for an ordinary young human female who focused on vocal performance and choreography rather than rigorous physical combat conditioning. However, she was an exceptional member of her species due to her access to the Thing Ring technology, which granted her a unique mechanical interface with an advanced robotic vessel. (FF v2 #1) As a celebrity, she had 29 million Yamblr followers and 67 million likes on Facespace with more people having watched her on Newtoob in a year than going to the movies. (FF v2 #7) This fame meant that she could never go out without dozens of guys attempting to get her picture. (Fantastic Four v4 #1)
Though she had no powers, she was provided a copy of the Thing Suit that was originally designed by Dr. Richards to provide an strong exo-skeleton to the Thing when Ben Grimm had temporarily lost his powers in the past. It provided her super-strength and greater durability allowing her to operate in battles. (FF v2 #2) The Thing Suit at first lacked a protective head gear but the Dragon Man modified it by crafting a transparent dome that was created by a collar modification which replicated the Invisible Woman's powers. Thus, it protected her head from harm yet was completely transparent allowing her to maintain her appearance. (FF v2 #5) The suit was destroyed by Blastaar during a fight with the Frightful Four. (FF v2 #7) Dragon Man later provided her the Thing Rings that were two rings wore on both hands with a 'T' symbol on the centre. When the two rings were smashed into one another they created a Thing Suit around her making it much more compact and mobile for use. They created a loud noise when forming the suit as this was caused when the vacuum formed by the rings was filled with Thing Particles. (FF v2 #8)
Her primary power relied on the Thing Suit, a high-tech exo-skeleton that elevated her physical strength to a multi-ton superhuman capacity and granted her a high degree of environmental durability. While inside the automated armor, her body was completely insulated from high-impact kinetic trauma, allowing her to shatter solid concrete structures, lift heavy motor vehicles, and trade physical strikes with superpowered threats without fracturing her underlying bone structure. Additionally, her extensive entertainment background provided her with an exceptional capacity for public relations, media manipulation, and high-stress crowd management, enabling her to maintain absolute composure under the intense scrutiny of global television networks without splitting her tactical focus.
