Biography
Death
God had stated that he had created Death in order to have his universe-creation project involving sentient life accepted by his contractors. (Howard the Duck v3 #6)
Death became intrigued by Thanos, a young Titanian boy afflicted with a Deviant Syndrome, whose purple skin set him apart from his fellow Titanians. Death first manifested to Thanos in the form of a young girl that attended his school. She convinced Thanos to approach a dangerous cave in order to overcome his fears. While exploring, a cave-in led to the death of Thanos' friends at the hands of the critters that lived underground, Death convinced him to get revenge and slaughter the whole nest. Death next appeared in Las Vegas under the guise of Marlo Chandler to talk to Ben Reilly who was the clone of Spider-Man. Reilly had recently brought back to life and spending some time acting as the new Jackal- initially instructing him to go after a duo of teen punks randomly shooting civilians around the city, claiming that she is testing what he will do about this discovery. Ben manages to find the criminals, shooting one of them twice with his own gun but avoiding causing fatal injuries, but when he is attacked by his 'brother' and fellow clone Kaine after the death of a girl Reilly had been trying to treat for a serious illness, Marlo appears and kills Kaine with a single touch. (Ben Reilly: Scarlet Spider v1 #6) 'Marlo' subsequently identified herself as Death and explains that she had an 'interest' in Reilly as no other person has been brought back to life so often. She revealed that he had 'died' so many times that his soul has become corrupted and if he undergoes one more resurrection then he would likely suffer so much spiritual damage that his soul will be broken for good. She then offered Reilly the chance to restore Cassandra Mercury's daughter Abigail or Kaine to life before she departed. Reilly though asked her to save both of them and kill him instead leading to Death not only healing the other two, but also restoring Reilly to a healthy physical appearance. Death also affirmed that he had made a start on his efforts to redeem himself of his sins as the Jackal and to become a hero again. (Ben Reilly: Scarlet Spider v1 #7)
Overview
Personality and attributes
In appearance, Death was most often depicted as a tall, cloaked figure shrouded in darkness, her face alternating between a beautiful woman’s visage and a bare skull, depending on the perspective of those who beheld her. Her skeletal hand and hollow eyes were frequently shown, embodying the inevitability and impartiality of mortality. She wore a flowing robe that enveloped her entirely, and her form seemed to exist slightly outside reality, both present and intangible. - In Silver Surfer, Death made multiple appearances in the animated series as a statue that was re-named for the cartoon as Lady Chaos. The statue was onboard Thanos's ship and he constantly spoke to her as if she was alive and conducted acts to please her.

- In Deadpool, Death appeared in the setting of the video game where she was voiced by actress April Stewart.
- In Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite, Death appeared as a non-playable character in the story setting of the video game where she was voiced by actress Alicyn Packard.
- In Marvel Strike Force, Death was referenced in the setting of the mobile video game. Her 'daughter' Deathpool was born from the cosmic energy of her love with Deadpool. Death herself disappeared when her 'daughter' was born. Incarnated fully formed, and with a scythe, she was educated by Deadpool in combat and her responsibilities as the representation of the concept of death, of which he knew little about. Together with her 'father', Deathpool fought space-pirates and killer robots, and eventually went her separate ways from Deadpool, acting as the avatar of the Dead, only occasionally meeting with her father. Three years into her tenure as Death, Deathpool visited her father to witness Thanos kill her seemingly unkillable father with the power of the Infinity Gems, 'snapping' him into dust. Deathpool confronted Thanos but was beaten. The Mad Titan, meanwhile resolved a new goal: to kill all the Deadpools in the multiverse, blaming Deadpool for the 'death' of his beloved Death. Deathpool followed Thanos in an effort to save the Deadpools of other dimensions, as well as her main goal: to kill the Mad Titan for killing her father. Deathpool pursued him through various dimensions, always one step behind Thanos as he killed multiple Deadpools, until confronting him in a dimension whose Deadpool had become a monk and was attempting to achieve enlightenment. Too late to save this Deadpool, Deathpool still managed to attack Thanos' Infinity Gauntlet with her scythe, interfering with the Space Stone, causing her to accidentally end up in Nexus Earth, sometime after the fall of Ultimus. There she encountered this dimension's Deadpool, working for S.T.R.I.K.E., for once being ahead of the Mad Titan. Warning him of the incoming threat, Deathpool resolved to herself to follow Deadpool and use him as bait to draw out Thanos, and went on several missions with him, clearing out people still under the sway of Ultimus. Despite bonding with the parallel version of her father, Deathpool denied feeling affection for him, repeatedly stating that her only goal was to kill Thanos. Deadpool disapproved of her revenge motivation, classifying it as "pretty dark". Eventually Thanos' forces found Deadpool, and Deathpool confronted Thanos. Thanos noted that the interference of her scythe sent him half across the universe from this dimension's Deadpool. Upon the confrontation, Deathpool joined forces with this dimension's Thanos, who was also working with S.T.R.I.K.E. at the time. Nexus Earth Thanos decried Deathpool's Thanos as petty, but was struck down by the alternate Titan. The alternate Thanos compared himself to Deathpool, driven only by the need for revenge, which Deathpool sardonically agreed with. Upon defeating the Mad Titan alongside S.T.R.I.K.E., Deathpool came upon the realisation that her parents would not want her to live for revenge, so she decides to take Thanos back to her dimension to face the Living Tribunal.
