History
Department K was a covert superhuman branch that operated as part of the Canadian government. (X-Force v1 #13)
It was said that in Department K there were many people both in support and opposed to the mysterious arms dealer called Mr. Tolliver. (X-Force v1 #2) After discovering Stryfe's identity, Garrison Kane decided to conduct a joint operation between Department K and S.H.I.E.L.D. with the purpose of taking down Cable. This saw Kane liaise with G. W. Bridge who had been conducting a manhunt of Cable with this leading to the activation of Weapon P.R.I.M.E. that was an elite task force of operatives tasked with eliminating their target. (X-Force v1 #11) The elite team of superhuman operatives struck at an underground bunker belonging to Cable leading to a confrontation with X-Force. (X-Force v1 #13)
Department K did not cooperate with the X-Men in sharing their intelligence on Cable's safehouses. This resulted in Wolverine and Bishop raiding their base to steal the information. During the raid, Cable arrive himself as he was searching for information about Stryfe. (Uncanny X-Men v1 #295)
