Jeremy Tell

In the aftermath of the ambush at the wedding of Green Arrow and Black Canary, Double Down hid in the backseat of a car and escaped with Piper and Trickster. He held them at knife-point to help him in joining in their escape. (Countdown v1 #30)

Post-Flashpoint

Following the Flashpoint, a new version of reality was created with a different history of events.

Double Down was invited to join the Legion of Zoom, a group organized by the Reverse-Flash to finally defeat the Flash. (The Flash v1 #760)

Powers and abilities

Tell had limited control of his cards once thrown. He can change the card's trajectory and even cause it to stick to a surface. The card's control is released once Double Down is knocked unconscious. (The Flash: Iron Heights v1 #1)

  • Double Down was created by Geoff Johns and Ethan Van Sciver where he made his first appearance in The Flash: Iron Heights v1 #1 (August, 2001).

In other media

Television

  • In Arrow, Double Down appeared in the live-action television series set in the Arrowverse where he appeared in the episode "Restoration" and was portrayed by actor JR Bourne. This version acquired his powers while receiving a tattoo in Central City amidst the explosion of Harrison Wells' particle accelerator, gaining the ability to manifest physical cards from his tattoos and utilize them as weapons. After being hired by Mina Fayad of H.I.V.E. to kill the Green Arrow, Tell fights him and Spartan until the Green Arrow defeats him. Tell was later noted to had been incarcerated at Iron Heights Penitentiary.

Films

  • In The Suicide Squad, Double Down made a cameo appearance in the setting of the live-action film where he was portrayed by actor Jared Leland Gore. This version was shown as being an inmate of Belle Reve Penitentiary.
