John (Resident Evil)

John was the boyfriend of Ada Wong. John was one of the Umbrella scientists working at the Spencer Estate labs, and he was killed and turned into a zombie after being exposed to the T-Virus.

John's last name is never mentioned in any of the games, but the novels and comics have each given him a full name of their own. In The Umbrella Conspiracy and City of The Dead by Perry, he is identified as Dr. John Howe. In the comics, he is identified as Dr. John Fay.

George Romero's unfilmed Resident Evil movie script identifies him as Dr. John Marcus (no relation to James Marcus).
