History
Pre-Crisis
Earth-X was a version of the planet Earth that existed in an alternate reality within the Multiverse.
In 1944, the U.S. President suffered a fatal heart attack and his death caused a shift in the war. This created delays in research and development that stalled the creation of the atom bomb which Nazi Germany had also made in that time. Neither side was willing to deploy the bomb as they feared mutually assured destruction thus causing World War II to continue for years afterwards. As a result, the war continued with many more people dying in the struggle but the Nazi scientists successfully created a mind control ray which they used to turn the conflict to their favour. This resulted in the U.S. ultimately losing the war and by 1973 Nazi Germany had taken control of much of the Earth. (Justice League v1 #107)
Despite the mind control technology, a band of superheroes that were immune to its effects formed and became the Freedom Fighters that fought against the Nazis. (Justice League v1 #107)
In 1973, members of the Justice League of America from Earth-One and the Justice Society of America from Earth-Two arrived on Earth-X by way of a Transmatter Cube accident. They teamed up with various members of the Freedom Fighters and helped them fight the Nazi threat. As the struggle unfolded, it was revealed that a computer brain had taken control from the Nazis, and replaced their leaders with android replicas. (Justice League v1 #107)
The Freedom Fighters journey from Earth-X to Earth-One in the hopes of helping America in its war against crime. (Freedom Fighters v1 #1)
Post-Crisis
Following the Crisis on Infinite Earths, a new version of reality was created with a different history of events.
Nazi Germany won World War II due to the Kryptonian known as Overman having landed in 1938 and raised by Adolf Hitler. Earth became an oppressed world under Nazi rule as hundreds of thousands of facilities are used for separating genetic lines, in which those deemed inferior are killed and others will be used to breed. (Countdown to Adventure v1 #2)
It was noted that the current ruling Fuhrer was a woman. (Countdown: Arena v1 #2)
Post-Flashpoint
Following the Flashpoint, a new version of reality was created with a different history of events.
Later on, a rocket ship carrying the last son of Krypton crashed in Nazi occupied Sudentenland. The local farmer mistook it initially for an unexploded Allied rocket and reported it to the local authorities. This was eventually brought to the attention of Adolf Hitler when Nazi scientists discovered it to be an alien craft. They then found its occupant the young Kal-El who was taken in by Hitler himself with the boy raised to be the Nazi regime's ultimate weapon. Hitler the First reverse engineered the technology from the baby's pod to win the Second World War, conquering the entire world. (The Multiversity: Mastermen v1 #1)
In this time, the New Reichsmen fought a number of foes including the Star Conqueror, Konstrukt, the Luthor League and Kanjar Ro. The Nazi Regime came to encounter the Atlanteans who at first opposed German forces but came to be on the losing side of the war. Ultimately, Germany came to spare the Atlanteans after believing that they were the root of the Aryan race. (The Multiversity: Mastermen v1 #1)
When Overman went missing in 2016 the Nazis experimented on Heinrich in order to create a new Overman. The result was Cyborg Overman, a cyborg with Kryptonian cells. (Freedom Fighters v3 #12)
The destruction of the Bozo resulted in a wave of reaction from American citizens who felt that the resurgence of the Freedom Fighters meant that there was the potential for freedom and liberty from the Nazi regime in the country. (Freedom Fighters v3 #2) This was on the anniversary of the year when the Freedom Fighters were supposedly destroyed. At the time, the elderly Fuhrer Adolt Hitler sought to redouble the efforts in finding and eliminating Uncle Sam despite claims that the Spirit of America had already been slain. It was then that Hitler died from old age and the leadership of the Reich passed to his son who became the new Fuhrer Hitler. (Freedom Fighters v3 #3)

- Gerechtigkeitliga (JLAxis) :
- Freedom Fighters :
The Nazi's came to establish a team of superhumans named the New Reichsmen that were assembled to protect their way of life. (The Multiversity: Mastermen v1 #1)
In time, Nazi forces managed to impart select operatives with the powers of Plastic Man. These Germans were known as the PlaSStic Men who were able to shapeshift and were dispatched to serve as spies to ambush resistance gatherings. Another creation of the German forces were giant humanoid war robots that became known as the Iron Police who were dispatched to enforce Nazi order against their enemies. (Freedom Fighters v3 #1)

- Adolf Hitler II : son of Adolf the First, Adolf the Second ruled the modern day Nazi Party, therefore ruling over the entire planet Earth. (Freedom Fighters v3 #2) The rule of Adolf the Second was eventually threatened by the resurgent Freedom Fighters. As the Freedom Fighters' presence encouraged the American people to rise up against the Nazi Regime and therefore allowing Uncle Sam to grow stronger, Adolf the Second failed in repeated attempts to crush the Freedom Fighters. Hitler reluctantly resorted to unleashing the Cyborg Overman against them, but only capturing Doll Woman and the Human Bomb. However, Adolf the Second was unwilling to release Cyborg Overman a second time, as the Cyborg's skin grafts were badly damaged and exposing it to the public will badly demoralized the Nazi Regime's people and its soldiers upon learning that the real Overman had abandoned them. When the Freedom Fighters lay siege to the Doomsday Bunker, and combined with multiple uprisings across America, Hitler quickly conceded to defeat. At this moment of weakness and defeatism, his son Adolf Hitler III murdered his father by slicing his throat and took over as the new Führer. (Freedom Fighters v3 #10)
- Adolf Hitler III :
- Heinrich Henshaw : When Overman went missing in 2016 the Nazis experimented on Heinrich in order to create a new Overman. The result was Cyborg Overman, a cyborg with Kryptonian cells. When the Freedom Fighters made their resurgence, Führer Adolf Hitler II deployed the Cyborg Overman against them. The Cyborg managed to capture the Human Bomb but was unable to stop the Freedom Fighters from escaping. Henshaw later confronted them again at the Doomsday Bunker and fought Uncle Sam. This time, however, Henshaw severely underestimated the Spirit of America, whose powers is magnified by the will of the oppressed American people, and was thoroughly trounced to the point of feeling actual pain. Henshaw spent his last moments begging for help and ranting that he is "the master race" before his head is crushed under Uncle Sam's foot. (Freedom Fighters v3 #12)

Notes
- Earth-X was created by Len Wein and Dick Dillin where it made its first appearance in Justice League of America v1 #107 (October, 1973).
- Most Quality Comics publications chronicled adventures from this Earth.
- Writer Grant Morrison commented on Earth-10, "I handled that particular revamp, so I can tell you that the original concept of the Freedom Fighters on a world where the Nazis won World War II has been greatly reconsidered, expanded and intensified into something that's a bit more Wagnerian and apocalyptic and a bit more adult."
- In Swamp Thing v2 #153 (1995), an Earth-X analogue where the Nazis never were defeated where by 1995 Hitler's son had become the new Führer and was married to Marilyn Monroe, who had not committed suicide in that universe. All ethnic groups except white ones had been exterminated with hunger and poverty having been eradicated whilst the civilization lived in harmony with the nature, without pollutants.
