Earth Republic

The Earth Republic is a government that features in Defiance.

History

The Earth Republic (E-Rep) was a human nation that came to form after the Pale Wars on Earth following the disbanding of the Earth Military Coalition. It entered into an armistice with the Votanis Collective on April 15, 2031.

Overview

Among their forces included Biomen that were the result of top-secret genetic engineering programs conducted by the Earth Military Coalition. These were tall, huge and heavily muscled blue-skinned humanoids that were the result of 20 years of genetic engineering work to produce lab-grown weapons of war. Biomen were designed to kill and withstand massive amounts of punishment where they came in a variety of skin tones some of which were natural or unnatural along with vivid eye color. Every group of Biomen had a 'batch name' that was based on a U.S. president that was followed by a serial number. They were designed to be the ultimate killing machine, unburdened by feelings of doubt or remorse. Their creators had estimated that most Biomen would perish in the war, and thus were not intended to still be alive long after the war ended. Their stunted sense of morality, coupled with erratic behavior due to their age, meant that Biomen in the modern world have the emotional range of a child. The end of the Pale Wars led to the Earth Republic attempting to integrate Biomen units into their security forces with mixed results. Many suffered from the same aggression they displayed during the war and behaved erratically in non-combat situations leading to them being stigmatized by both Votans and humans.

Part of its assets including large aerial warships called stratocarrier that operated in the skies.

Among their bases included:

• Station Arrowhead : a blacksite situated 300 miles north of Defiance that was built during the Pale Wars that was sealed completely since the 2020's where it was tended to by a group of Biomen. (Episode: Dead Air)

The Republic operated a number of blacksites that were completely self-sustaining with some built as refuge's for the government's elite in case all was lost with these containing fully stocked seed vault with functioning rain chamber and even DNA samples of the world's lost animals.
