Biography
Nika
Many years ago, the young Nika lived in Moscow, Russia where her ability led her to express herself by drawing morbid imagery in her books. This led to her sister often asking her why she could not be normal. One day, she and her family were at a hospital where her grandfather was dying. They came to pay their respects to him as he passed on which was when Nika's powers manifested in her seeing his entire life. This led to her learning that her grandfather had been a serial killer who had murdered many people over the years. She came to reveal this to her family but this angered her father who refused to hear his own father's name being tarnished. Despite that, Nika decided to use the knowledge she acquired to reveal the truth about her grandfather. (Robin 2021 Annual v3 #1)
Overview
Personality and attributes
Originally, she was noted for her normal complexion and short black hair. After manifesting her skills for the first time, her skin became pale white as did her hair. (Robin 2021 Annual v3 #1)
She claimed that she loved the smell of blood in the morning. (Robin 2021 Annual v3 #1)
It was shown that she had an older sister who found her younger sibling to be weird. (Robin 2021 Annual v3 #1)
Her grandfather had been a serial killer who had murdered many people in secret over the years. This stemmed from him being subject to a KGB experiment that allowed him to inherit the knowledge and skills of the recently deceased so long as he was in close proximity to them at the time of their passing. These talents he gained were used as an assassin for the KGB until the time he retired from active service. (Robin 2021 Annual v3 #1)
After saving her family from assassins, they came to be frightened of her and ran away. Thus, she came to sever times with them and remarked that she never really fit with them anyway. (Robin 2021 Annual v3 #1)
Powers and abilities
Flatline was a human being born from a bloodline where her grandfather had been part of a secret KGB experiment. These experiments allowed him to learn from those who died where he could retain their skill and expertise. The ability skipped his own child and was instead inherited by Nika. Being present at her grandfather's passing allowed her to inherit not only her grandfathers knowledge but also the skills he had been taught as an assassin. (Robin 2021 Annual v3 #1)
Nika came to be a martial artist after inheriting the initial skills from her grandfather after his death. This only came to increase upon each opponent who died near her. (Robin 2021 Annual v3 #1)
