Biography

G-Man

Around 15 years later, he came to be captured by the Combine through unknown means where he was imprisoned in the floating prison known as the Vault. It was shown that Vortigaunt energy was being used to help contain him and keep him trapped. He came to be freed by Alyx Vance when she mistakenly believed him to be Gordon Freeman.

Twenty years after the Black Mesa Incident, the G-Man was present to greet Gordon Freeman who emerged on the Combine controlled Earth.

Overview

Personality and attributes

In appearance, the G-Man was seemingly a middle-aged Caucasian male with a tall, thin physique, pale skin, a slightly crooked facial structure, a prominent widow's peak, black hair styled in a crew cut, and pale green eyes. Typically, he was seen wearing a gray-blue suit with him almost always carrying a briefcase.

He was said to be a sinister interdimensional bureaucrat.

The G-Man claimed that he held great respect for people who can survive against incredible odds with him stating that such people reminded him of himself.

Powers and abilities

The Nihilanth would claim that he was not a man thus indicating he was not human.

He seemingly had the power to appear in any place of his choice including moving to and from other dimensions on a whim.

It was shown that he had a degree of time travel capability. Such was the case when he took Alyx Vance to 5 years in the future to see her father's death. This allowed him to make people an offer to change the future in order to escape terrible events in their lives. In another case, he was able to halt time over a select area halts such as during a huge explosion that would have killed Gordon and Alyx.

He worked on behalf of his 'employers' that were opposed to the Combine. Ultimately, he faced a number of 'restrictions' that were given from them that prevented the G-Man in engaging in certain actions.
