Joseph B. Colton

He came to graduate in 1960 from the United States Military Academy at West Point where he received the highest possible honors.

Colton was later recruited into Special Forces where he quickly distinguished himself as an outstanding Green Beret. He would participate in 'ultra' top secret combat operations and extensive tours of duty to trouble spots around the world. By 1963, 1st Lieutenant Joseph B. Colton became the most decorated and feared battlefield soldier the world had ever known.

President John F. Kennedy would come to recognise Colton's talents and selected him to create as well as command the ULTIMATE freedom fighting forces. Accepting this elite presidential appointment, he would build a team consisting of the toughest men the armed forces could muster at the time. Colton was part of the Adventure Team, alongside Atomic Man (Mike Power), Bulletman , and Stalker (Lonzo Wilkinson).

With the rise of the COBRA organization, Colton's codename became the namesake for the special operations team he founded. G.I. JOE himself would come to 'retire' from the team and disappeared from the official military roster. But unofficially, he would become the head of a secret strategic defense initiative installation.
