Biography

Gill (Japanese: ギル, Hepburn: Giru?) was the son of parents that were long term members of the mysterious Secret Society who had manipulated events in the world for over 2000 years. They were dedicated to the salvation of mankind and creating a new utopia. Unlike other members who were kidnapped and brainwashed, both of his parents held Ph.Ds in their respective fields with his mother being an Olympic level athlete with a doctorate in Sports Dynamics where she along with his father being candidates for the presidency of the cult. Around this time, Gill was born where he had a younger brother by the name of Urien. Around this time, the cult believed that the soul of their previous Secret Society Emperor was set to be reincarnated into a new body after death. Through a special training program, they determined that the latest incarnation of the Emperor was Gill and by the age of 22 he was appointed as the new President of the Secret Society. His brother Urien was overlooked due to his emotional instability and instead he was appointed as his brothers vice president. Later, Urien challenged Gill for the presidency of the Secret Society and succeeded. Urien then became the president of the Secret Society. However, Gill was not demoted - in fact, he was promoted out of the title of president and became the new Emperor and messiah.

Years ago, he came upon Kolin who was the only survivor of her unit that were part of an unnamed country destroyed in a war. She had been wandering in the tundra landscape until she collapsed where she was about to die. Gill appeared to her in that moment where he asked for her name to which she replied by saying she had none. He then asked her about her country to which she said it was gone. He then offered to build a new Country of God where she could live if she so desired where he took her in leading to her transformation as one of his followers.

Under Gill, the Secret Society continued to gain power and resources, acquiring capital and estates through various business transactions. When the organization came into possession of a certain Jaguar automobile from the father of a British heavyweight boxing champion known as Dudley, Gill himself was challenged by the pugilist in order to have the automotive heirloom returned. Gill, being respectful of powerful fighting ability, agreed to return the precious car, as its worth was both petty and insignificant compared to the coffers of his organization. Sometime before the World Warrior Tournament, Gill had fought against a military martial arts instructor by the name of Tom, and had done so to the point of nearly crippling him and sending him off to the hospital. Unbeknownst to him, Tom's disciple and ward, Alex, distraught and angered, had entered the World Warrior Tournament to exact revenge on Gill for what he had done to Tom. The Secret Society continued to conduct genetic enhancements and other intrusive mutations on humans, either kidnapping their subjects or creating and/or enhancing them artificially, in a development series known as the G-Project. These experiments resulted in the creation of the super soldiers known as Necro and Twelve, enhanced beings designed to carry out the bidding of the Secret Society. This project also led to the abduction of a young girl who was under the care of the ICPO agent Chun-Li.

With the aid of his faithful secretary Kolin and despite his younger brother's meddling, Gill organized the World Warrior tournament with the aim of finding those strong enough to be worthy of repopulating humanity after the end of the world. During this tournament, Ibuki was tasked by her clan to retrieve the G-Project files. Fortunately for her, Gill gave up the files voluntarily; the project was already underway at the time, meaning that the files would no longer be needed. At some point during the end of the tournament, Gill was defeated by Alex. Though Alex had won the tournament, he refused to outright kill Gill. Since then, Gill has noticed something special about Alex, particularly something that would help a great part in preparing for the upcoming apocalypse. At some point during the tournament, although disputed whether canon or not, Gill was killed when Akuma caught him by surprise with the Shun Goku Satsu, though he resurrected himself as Akuma left the battle. Urien stakes his claim to the Presidency by challenging Gill to a match in order to prove his superiority. Gill purposely throws the match and Urien is made the President. Immediately after, Urien learns that the President is outranked by the Emperor in the hierarchy of the organization, his recently promoted brother Gill, much to the outrage and chagrin of the former.

Afterwards, Gill appeared alongside his secretary Kolin as he had apparently requested to have a match against G to test his strength and abilities, as well as allow all of his efforts to be seen across the world via video live streaming. Gill is also worried about the prophecy before evaluating G at the beginning of the match, stating that the prophecy does not seem to mention G. After defeating G, he finally questions him of how he had gazed upon him during their match as the latter replies because his vision between them are one and the same as both were earthlings. G goes on to claim their one wish is to become one with the Earth. When G claims himself as the President of Earth, Gill states about the odd feeling of his power he had felt somewhere before. This battle with G was watched by his younger brother Urien, who is now furious and rages by breaking the monitor with his fist, wanting to fight his older brother for exposing himself in a video. He forcibly orders Kolin to bring Gill to him to which she reluctantly agreed. Gill immediately defeats his brother who becomes angry and frustrated. Gill states that the reason of his defeat is because everything in the prophecy has been written. Urien replies that he wants to destroy this accursed prophecy. Gill berates his brother Urien that his time for being his replacement will come to pass. That remark causes Urien to become even more furious, thinking it was an insult. Gill continues to berate him that he will never be his replacement and never serve any purpose because he himself is the one who will achieve the wishes of the Secret Society as their Emperor. Despite Urien's fury, Gill informs him about the long awaited wish that he needs to fulfill. The prophecy between them as brothers and the tenets which followed will disappear, and he will let his brother live anywhere he wants. Gill dismissively leaves while Urien continues to call his name in a fit of rage.

Overview

Personality and attributes

In appearance, Gill had a distinctive appearance where he had a half red and half blue muscular body and flowing blonde hair. His likeness was distinct and intentional resemblance to a Greek God. In keeping with that theme, Gill fought completely unclothed except for a white thong around his hips.

He was presented as a cult leader who would become a benevolent and compassionate monarch over his worthy subjects akin to a cult of personality. Worldly, majestic, impressive, and charismatic in his pursuits.

Gill was not without flaws however, being haughty, arrogant, disdainful, manipulative, and even outright draconic and elitist at worst, with his cult using immoral and Machiavellian ways such as kidnapping, coercion, DNA manipulation, brainwashing, and extreme force in a similar way to Shadaloo in order to select their chosen people, and they have been behind a majority of the world's events and criminal organizations to attain their ends. Gill was also not above murdering innocent people to complete his ultimate ambition, and claims his faults and flaws are absolved and sublimated by the same supremacist exceptionalism the Secret Society hold themselves to, including a god complex and the excuse that self improvement of the Emperor excuses him from moral responsibility.

Gill also holds an esteemed spiritual pursuit for learning and the arts, and especially the martial arts, sharing the same drive as Ryu to hold the title of the World's Strongest. However, unlike Ryu's sojourning warrior's pilgrimage to just about every far corner of the globe to know the interconnected and intrinsic core of the fighting spirit that goes beyond boundaries face-to-face, Gill seeks merely power and the prestige to gather greater influence for the Secret Society and to honor their dubious fringe beliefs of the Messiah, and his self image of godhood in this sense provides only a misguided motivation for his cause to seek power and spiritual development.

Urien positively dislikes Gill due to the fact that his older brother won the election of being President of the Secret Society, and when the two fought, Gill purposely threw the match so that he can be emperor, which made Urien upset, hating him even more. Gill takes no chance to belittle his brother whenever they encounter. It is shown that the two were very close before acquiring their powers and eventually falling out, mainly due to Urien's jealousy. Some brotherly concern remains in him, though subdued.

After saving her life, he came to be accompanied by Kolin who acted as his personal assistant and managed aspects of his plans.

Powers and abilities

In his youth, he was genetically enhanced where he gained increased strength and speed whilst also participating in an intense hand-to-hand combat training program. Among the hundreds of enhanced warriors involved, Gill came to be the top student and even surpassed his brother.

Gill's fighting style appears to be based on the ancient Greek Olympic discipline of Pankration, and relies on the manipulation of fire and ice, as well as elemental clotheslines, headbutts, and knee-drops, all of which are used as well by his brother, Urien. He also has several other powers at his disposal, also mentioned above. It was said that Gill also sought out, studies, and practices other martial arts throughout the world in hopes of attaining the 'ultimate fighting style'.

Among the techniques known to him included:

  • Pyrokinesis (パイロキネシス, Pairokineshisu) :
  • Cryokinesis (クリオキネシス, Kuriokineshisu) :
  • Meteor Strike (メテオストライク Meteo Sutoraiku?) :
  • Seraphic Wing (セラフィックウイング Serafikku Uingu?) :
  • Divine Comet :
  • Resurrection (リザレクション, Rizarekushon) :

By surviving the Shun Goku Satsu, Gill shows he is not only physically immortal with his power, but spiritually as well.

Gill was born into the Secret Society (秘密結社 Himitsu Kessha?) that secretly operated in the world and arose to be its leader.
