The Globe of Ultimate Knowledge
The advanced cosmic information repository asset designated as the Ultimate Machine—alternatively classified as the Globe of Ultimate Knowledge—was maintained within the citadel of the cosmic race known as the Watchers. Seeking to acquire the immense data storage unit to expand his own strategic capabilities, the hyper-intelligent villain known as the Leader coerced the Hulk into traveling directly to the world. The Hulk successfully bypassed the local automated planetary defenses, breached the secure inner sanctum, and extracted the spherical device from its containment cradle. The mechanical asset, which housed the entire accumulated observation logs of the universe across millions of years, was successfully secured and transported back to Earth to be delivered into the hands of the Leader. (Tales to Astonish v1 #73) The severe neurological and physical consequences of accessing the cosmic data asset manifested immediately when the Leader attempted to interface with the device. Despite possessing a highly augmented, gamma-irradiated brain, the Leader's mental processing capacity was entirely insufficient to handle the staggering density of the incoming information. Upon manually placing the smooth, seamless sphere directly onto his head, an uncontrolled data download flooded his nervous system. The extreme mental feedback loop instantly overtaxed his synapses, causing his cognitive faculties to black out and forcing his physical body to collapse onto his laboratory floor in a seemingly vegetative state, which left the unchecked machine sitting adjacent to his limp form.
