Hayato Shingu is a male anime and manga character who features in Project ARMS.

Biography

Hayato Shingu

He came to witness his parents being killed by Keith Black right in front of him where their murderer then proceeded to cut off Hayato's left arm.

Ten years later, he looked to get his revenge against the Egrigori and hunted down their operatives. From one, he came to learn of a potential target at a school and enrolled himself at the institution. Whilst there, he came to meet Ryo Takatsuki where he could feel the vibrations from his ARMS thus indicating that the student was his intended target.

Personality and attributes

He was shown as being an incredibly passionate person who constantly lived in the moment and switched from rage to shock to grief all in an instant.

Hayato had a powerful sense of justice and instantly leapt to protect the helpless or punish evildoers.

The death of his parents caused Hayato to live only for revenge where he sought to hunt down and destroy Egrigori.

Over time, he came to gain more self-control, self-awareness, and compassion.

Eventually, Hayato came to give up his revenge and instead devoted himself to being a protector rather than a destroyer. It was this act that allowed him to access the Knight's ultimate form.

At first, he did not get along with Kei Kuruma (久留間 恵, Kuruma Kei) where the two would get into constant arguments with one another. By working together, they came to grow closer and eventually the pair started a relationship.

Powers and abilities

He was genetically engineered to be able to bond with the ARMS which was done so in his childhood. After losing his left arm, he was implanted with the ARMS that was known as White Knight. The Knight seemed to be the manifestation of White Alice's will to protect. The ARM nano-machines allowed Hayato to heal injuries much faster than a normal human even in his untransformed state. It was noted to be receptive to the vibrations of another ARMS unit leading to a feeling of an electric hock down his left arm. Hayato's arm was able to transform into multiple fighting blades and a projectile launcher for close combat. The blades produced by the Knight were said to be composed of the hardest substance that an ARMS could produce though their strength was influenced to some degree by the emotional state and skill level of Hayato.

White Knight's ultimate form was that of a powerful armored knight wield a lance called the Lance of Mistilteinn that had the power to destroy other ARMS with an Anti-ARMS Nano-Virus. Thus, it was capable of negating the regenerative properties of another ARMS. The Knight's ultimate form was triggered by its host's desire to protect. Knight was also capable of entering into a half-transformed state where the ARMS nano-machines spread throughout his entire body and dramatically increase all of his physical attributes. The Lance of Mistilteinn was able to evolve further into a double pointed energy lance that was able to destroy ARMS nano-machines by projecting an intense energy field with every swing of it.

From his grandfather Juzo, he came to learn the Shingu style of martial arts.

He later managed to learn the 'Heart of Water' technique that was a skill that allowed him to read his opponents to determine their next move.

• Hayato Shingu was created by Ryoji Minagawa where he featured in the setting of Project ARMS.

• In Project ARMS, Hayato Shingu appeared in the setting of the anime television series adaptation where he was voiced by Japanese actor Miki Shinichirou and by English actor Brian Drummond in the dub.
