Biography

A young orphan in The Silencer v1 #13.

Honor was the name given to a dark skinned female born in the modern age. Her past was largely unknown except that she was a nameless orphan who by the age of six was found in a clinic operated by Jonah Nine. The young girls existence and ability as a Metahuman was brought to the attention of Ra's al Ghul who had the child enrolled at St. Hadrian's Finishing School for Girls to be trained as an assassin with her being assigned a number on a wristband. During her time there, the young child took the name Honor after hearing from a fellow student that it was an honor to die. The young girl was being groomed to be a future member of the League of Assassins due to her talents. Around this time, her skills were witnessed by Talia al Ghul who was looking for a personal assistant and was impressed by the skills of the young Honor. Despite Ra's wanting the girl as his assassin, Talia had a discretion on recruitment and introduced herself to the young girl where she decided to give her a full name as Honor Guest. In the time afterwards, Honor Guest went through considerable amount of training where she proved to be a highly skilled assassin who was expecting to be deployed on League missions. However, by her adulthood, Talia had no intention of giving her to the League of Assassins but rather wanted her part of a new initiative that was Leviathan. By this point, she came to be known as a highly skilled assassin known as the Silencer and served as Talia al Ghul's personal operative. (The Silencer v1 #13)

On one occasion Honor was sent on a mission to Gotham City by Talia, but she was not informed what the premise of her mission was. When she arrived in the city she met a real-estate worker named Blake Guest, whom she hired an apartment from. She waited in the apartment for days until she was given directives from Talia, who informed her that she was there to protect the Batman from assassins sent by Ra's al Ghul. While on route to the Batman's possible locations Honor noticed a mugging undergoing. Deciding to help the victims she descended on the muggers and murdered all of them, this brought the attention of Batman who attacked the assassin for murdering the thugs. After a brief skirmish between the two fighters Ra's al Ghul's assassin the Reaper arrived. The two fought together against the powerful cybernetic warrior, but his skill and body mods proved too much for the pair of them. As the Reaper beat Batman to a pulp Silencer saw her opportunity, she grabbed the Reaper's sword from his back and used it to kill him, she then took advantage of Batman's crippled state to escape the scene with no further incidents. After the completion of the mission Honor began dating Blake Guest as she started to believe that she wanted an ordinary life for herself. (The Silencer Annual v1 #1)

After a sparring match against Talia Silencer worked up the courage to ask if she could be released from her eternal work. Talia agreed to let her live a normal life as long as she fulfilled one last job for her old friend. Talia ordered her to kill a former Leviathan member, Guile, who was planning to trade Leviathan's secrets to the authorities in exchange for freedom. The Silencer shadowed Guile for days and learnt that he had a family and just wanted to live an ordinary life. A few days after this Silencer made a move on Guile hoping to eliminate him and earn her freedom, only to be intercepted by Deathstroke who was widely considered to be the most effective mercenary alive. The two battled until Honor was able to temporarily disable him by kicking him out a window, she then intercepted Guile and shot him in the head before Deathstroke could recover. The mercenary informed Silencer that killing Guile would cause a civil war in Leviathan as all trust in the organisation had been broken. Honor was then able to escape from Deathstroke with her life. (The Silencer v1 #4)

She continued to live the peaceful suburban life with her family for the next six years. This was until when she went out shopping with her son and was approached by an Underlife enforcer named Killbox. Honor was able to kill her attacker without drawing any suspicion but came to realise that she was being forced back into the underworld life. Whilst at home, she was approached by Talia al Ghul who asked for her former Silencer to return to the old life as she had enemies that were targeting all her allies though Honor refused as she said that she was promised a quiet happy life. It was then that they were ambushed by Underlife assassins with Honor being forced to equip herself with weapons as the Silencer once more. (The Silencer v1 #1)

Overview

Personality and attributes

Originally, she was a nameless orphan who first took just the name of Honor after hearing the word at St. Hadrians. Her last name of Guest was given to her by the time she was an adult. (The Silencer v1 #13)

Honor by adulthood wanted to rid the world of evil men and only sought to eliminate them. Thus, she told her benefactor Talia that if she ever asked her to silence an innocent or undeserving a person then she would leave her service and never be seen again. (The Silencer v1 #13)

From a young age, she had a desire for an ordinary more mundane life with her looking to have a family that lived in the suburbs. (The Silencer v1 #13) As an adult, she was married and had a son with this being noted as an ordinary life which she found perfect. (The Silencer v1 #1)

Honor Guest was deeply indebted to Talia for taking her in and believing in her when no one else did in her life. Thus, she was loyal to her and would have followed her to the ends of the Earth. Despite that, she wanted a desire for the constant killing to end and that the people they targeted were only evil men. (The Silencer v1 #13)

Powers and abilities

The Zone of Silence in The Silencer Annual v1 #1.

As a Metahuman, she had a superpower that was inherent in her genetics that allowed her to deploy a Zone of Silence. (The Silencer v1 #13) When activated, it created a zone around her to be completely devoid of sound that she used to disorient her foes and also hide her actions without drawing any suspicion from others around her. (The Silencer v1 #1)

A highly skilled assassin, she was trained to make use of any object as a weapon with her being able to use a pack of pencils as a stabbing instrument. (The Silencer v1 #1)
