Howard Barnsby

Squadron Leader Howard Barnsby was one of numerous RAF pilots in World War II selected to make an attack run against the German gun fortress on Navarone. After failing and losing several of his men, Barnsby and what remained of his squadron returned to base, where they explained to Commodore James Jensen, Captain Keith Mallory and Major Roy Franklin why an aerial attack of Navarone was impossible.
