By 1656, the pair were invited to hell to the court of the Lord Lucifer. (The Demon v3 #0)

He was later approached by an automated device that was part of a contingency set up by Batman that was activated in case the Justice League was killed. This triggered a recruitment of specially selected individuals to constitute a new Justice League. As a result, Jason Blood was contacted where his expertise as a mage was needed for the team. At first, he intended to refuse but he ultimately accepted where he went to the Justice League Watchtower where the heroes were being rallied by Nightwing. (JLA v1 #69)
