Jimmy (King Kong)

Jimmy was one of the crew members aboard the S.S. Venture.

King Kong (1933)

Jimmy, a young sailor, was elected to carry Carl Denham's gas bombs around during the search party's trek on Skull Island. He was part of the search party that set out to rescue Ann Darrow from the clutches of King Kong, and was killed when the group encountered Kong while crossing a deep ravine and Kong shook them all off the log and to their deaths in the gorge. When he refused to be shaken loose from the log Kong simply threw the entire thing down into the chasm with Jimmy still clinging to it. He died in the fall.

King Kong (Novelization & Monster Comics)

Mostly identical to the original film, except that in the comics Jimmy is portrayed as a muscular man rather than a much smaller man. His ultimate fate is also difficult to determine. In the novelization, he simply dies anonymously during the log sequence (he may or may not be the final man clinging to the log as it falls into the chasm, as in the film), while in the comics he is shown on the log with the other sailors but is never actually shown falling off or being eaten by the giant spiders.

King Kong (2005)

Jimmy is a 16-year old member of the Venture's crew and close friends with Ben Hayes, the first mate. Hayes rescued Jimmy from a life of crime and the two became best friends. An excellent marksman who longed to prove his bravery, Jimmy joined Hayes, Denham and Jack Driscoll on their mission to reclaim Ann Darrow. He and the others where shaken from a log bridge and down into a deep pit where they were attacked by giant insects. Only Jimmy, Denham, Driscoll and Preston survived, thanks to the timely arrival of Captain Englehorn's rescue party.
