Biography
Kai was a male human from Earthrealm who came to seek out fighting skills from great masters across Asia where he eventually came to meet Liu Kang. The Shaolin came to recruit Kai to be part of a new generation of warriors under his tutelage where he became part of the secretive White Lotus Society. After his training, he came to depart the order and began a quest for enlightenment leading to him travelling the world. He came to reunite with Liu Kang when the Elder God Shinnok emerged from the NetherRealm in an attempt to conquer all worlds. This saw Kai gathering to assist Raiden along with the other protectors of Earthrealm as they battled this threat.

Personality and attributes
In appearance, Kai was a human male of African descent with a muscular, highly athletic physical frame, measuring six feet in height and weighing 237 pounds. He possessed short, straight black hair, elongated sideburns extending down his jawline, and dark eyes. His entire naked skin surface was prominently adorned with permanent white tiger stripe body markings wrapping around his torso, back, and limbs. His standardized combat attire consisted of a dark red fabric headband tied around his forehead, a matching dark red abdominal sash, a wide leather utility belt, and secure dark red leather shin guards. He wore loose, baggy black martial arts pants gathered at the ankles, standard white and black canvas training shoes, and a pair of thick, dark grey metallic wristbands studded with prominent defensive spikes.
Powers and abilities
Kai was born a member of the human race native to Earthrealm and possessed an exceptionally agile, naturally nimble physical physiology. As an elite martial artist who achieved complete mastery over the Moi Fah fighting style, Kai possessed superhuman physical conditioning, advanced acrobatic capabilities, and extensive tactical proficiency in armed and unarmed combat. He maintained a specialized inner chi attunement that granted him potent pyrokinesis, allowing him to seamlessly manifest and control localized fire during combat. This included firing specialized plasma bursts such as the Rising Fireball or dropping a Falling Fireball vertically down from the air onto an opponent's head. His combat agility enabled unique physical maneuvers, such as entering a sustained Hand Walk stance on his palms to execute rapid Leg Spins or low sweeping kicks. Kai was also highly proficient with specialized blades, carrying a massive Ghurka Knife as his primary personal weapon. Upon completing his service to Earthrealm, his combat repertoire was significantly enhanced when he inherited Raiden's mystical Lightning Staff, granting him direct attunement over raw thunder and lightning energies capable of forging a path to absolute immortality.
Kai was shown to be able to shoot out fireballs that he fired either into the air or the ground to strike his opponents.
He was known to wield a Ghurka Knife and a Spiked Club in combat.
