Biography
Katsuki Bakugō (Japanese: 爆豪 勝己, Hepburn: Bakugō Katsuki) was a human male born the son of Masaru Bakugo and Mitsuki Bakugo where they lived near Shizuoka Prefecture in Japan. He was born during a time when mankind had become a superhuman society following the development of Quirks among the populace. This left to some manifest a special super power at some point in their lives leading to a rise in heroes and villains. In the local neighbourhood, he came to meet another boy named Izuku Midoriya where the two became childhood friends where he gained he nickname of 'Kacchan'. All the other boys came to look up to Bakugo because of his energy, confidence and natural born talents. The praise he would receive resulted in him becoming arrogant and gaining a self-inflated view of himself. It was during this time that his interactions with Midoriya changed as he began to pick on him and gave him the name 'Deku'. Despite this, Izuku was shown to still follow Katsuki around and was part of his circle of friends.
During class at Aldera Junior High school, the teacher announces that all students will graduate, and Katsuki contends the notion that he is of the same status as his peers. He refers to his classmates as beneath him because of him acing the mock tests and his powerful Quirk. In consequence he tells them all that he alone will attend U.A. High School and surpass the number one hero: All Might. The teacher discloses that Izuku is also attempting to get into U.A., much to Katsuki's displeasure. Katsuki berates Izuku and uses his Quirk to scare him by exploding his desk. He tells Izuku that because he is Quirkless, he will never succeed at anything, especially getting into U.A.. Katsuki and two of his friends confront Izuku after class. They take his hero notebook and Katsuki burns it before tossing it out the window into a fish pond. Katsuki reminds Izuku that only he himself is destined to reach that school and Izuku is just a stepping stone for his greatness. Before leaving the room, Katsuki warns Izuku not to apply to U.A. at all. After school, Katsuki and company try to decide what to do for fun and ponder if Katsuki was too harsh on Izuku. Katsuki ignores them, only replying that he cannot stand Izuku's optimism and someone needs to teach him how the world works. The boys suggest they skip class and go to the arcade but Katsuki refuses because it could ruin his chances of getting into U.A.. Just then, the Sludge Villain captures Katsuki and goes on a rampage through the city. Katsuki tries to break free using his Quirk but is unable to, only setting fire to the area around him and making it more difficult for heroes to intervene. As people and Heroes are watching, unable to help Katsuki, Izuku rushes to help him. While Katsuki demands to know why Izuku is helping him, Izuku states that he could not stand by and let Katsuki die. The two are ultimately saved by All Might, who destroys the villain while freeing Katsuki at the same time. Afterward, Izuku is scolded for his recklessness, and Katsuki is praised for his Quirk, but the latter only frowns at him in silence. Later, he finds Izuku and yells at him for trying to help. Katsuki claims he was fine on his own and he may owe him but he was never going to apologize for his previous actions of destroying his book and voiced he didn't need any help before angrily storming away. Months later, Katsuki arrives to take part in the U.A. Entrance Exam. While walking in, Katsuki notices Izuku walking in and tells him to move out of the way. Later in the auditorium, Katsuki is seated next to Izuku, whom he has to tell to shut up after he starts geeking out over Present Mic being the examiner. Katsuki is also upset by the fact that he and Izuku must participate in separate areas because Katsuki was excited to crush him. After the exam begins, judges note that Katsuki took on the exam using brute force and combat ability. By the test's end, Katsuki scored seventy-seven combat points, the most out of any participant. He also received the lowest amount of rescue points, as he was the only student not to get any rescue points at all. Examiners were still very impressed by his performance.

He had short, spiky, sandy blonde hair arranged with choppy bangs that hung over his eyebrows. His eyes are sharp and bright red in color. Izuku often referred to Bakugo with the nickname of Kacchan (かっちゃん). As a hero, he tried to go by the name of Great Explosion Murder God Dynamight (大だい•爆ばく•殺さっ•神しんダイナマイト Daibakusasshin Dainamaito?).
In general, he was shown as being a crude, arrogant, short-tempered, and aggressive person. It was shown that his prideful nature that made him quick to anger when things did not go his way along with being dismissive of those he considered weak. From a young age, he was regarded as a genius by his peers due to developing a powerful Quirk from an early age.
Despite his tendencies, he was shown as being capable of working in a team.
At their old school, he was shown to had regularly bullied Midoriya such as beating him up when Izuku stopped Bakugo and his friends from beating up another kid. He also mocked Midoriya's desire to become a student at U.A. and warned him not to enrol as it would make Bakugo look bad.
He came to learn the truth about Deku having inherited All-Might's power and was one of the few who knew Midoriya's secret.
Powers and abilities
Bakugo was among the many humans in the world that developed a Quirk with his own special ability being Explosion (爆破 Bakuha). It functioned by having his palms secrete a nitroglycerin-like sweat that detonated at will whereby it created an explosion. As such, the more he sweat then the stronger the explosions became and making him more powerful.
Part of his costume, he had equipment made for him that were Grenadier Bracers (籠こ手て Kote?) that allowed him to stores his nitroglycerin-like sweat.
Katsuki developed a number of powerful uses of his Quirk that were called Super Moves with these including:
- Explosive Speed (爆ばく速そくターボ Bakusoku Tābo?) : by throwing his hands backwards, he created explosions that were used to propel himself forward at high speeds. This could be used on the ground to increase his speed and in the air to achieve a form of flight.
- Blast Rush Turbo (爆ばく速そくターボ Bakusoku Tābo?) : by throwing his hands behind him, he projected his power to unleash an explosion to propel himself forward where he could increase his speed from the blast and in the air he could achieve a limit form of flight.
- Stun Grenade (閃光弾スタン グレネード Sutan Gurenēdo?) : by creating a sphere of light between his hands he could unleash an explosion that generated a large scale flash that replicated the effects of a stun grenade with the flash of light blinding people close to him. He created a variation of the move called the Zero Distance Stun Grenade (ゼロ距きょ離り閃光弾スタングレネード Sutan Gurenēdo?) where he fired off his Stun Grenade at point-blank range of the opponent to immediately stun and immobilize them with little lasting damage.
- AP Shot (徹甲弾A・P・ショット Ei Pī Shotto?, literal meaning "Armor-Piercing Shot") : after a period of training, he learnt to channel his Quirk to fire specific shots rather than explosions. This technique he came to refer to as an whereby he focused his explosion path into a single point rather than use his entire palm. This created a concentrated blast that could successfully pierce through solid concrete with this being achieved by having one forming a circular shape in front of the palm. Initially, he learnt to use this as a single shot but in time he learnt to fire multiple rapid shots with this being called the AP Shot: Auto-Cannon (徹甲弾A・P・ショット機関銃オートカノン Ei Pī Shotto Ōtokanon?).
- Explode-A-Pult (爆破式エクスカタパルト Ekusu Kataparuto?) : whilst in the air, Bakugo would grab an opponent with one arm and propel himself in a spinning motion by firing explosions with his free arm. Once he gained enough momentum, Katsuki forcefully threw his opponent with the aid of another explosion.
At one point, he experienced a temporary transfer of One For All (ワン・フォー・オール Wan Fō Ōru?) to him by Izuku Midoriya. Its enormous power and stockpile of abilities came to significantly enhance all of Bakugo's physical abilities to superhuman levels. These resulted in unbelievable levels of strength, speed, agility, and durability along with an exceptional strength boost to his given natural Quirk: Explosion.
