Biography
Kazumi Hachijo (Japanese: 八条 一美, Hepburn: Hachijo Kazumi) was a Japanese female who was born a member of the Hachijo Clan (八条家 Hachijō-ke?, Hachijo Family) of assassins that operated in Japan. Her family were noted for being bearers of the Devil Gene (デビルの血 Debiru no Chi?, Devil's Blood) that eliminated people who they saw as a threat to the world. In the 20th century, they came to believe that the Heihachi Mishima was one such danger and asked the young Kazumi with the goal of assassinating him. This saw her being sent to Jinpachi Mishima's dojo where she spent countless hours in training in martial arts. Whilst there, she came to be a sort of rival to Jinpachi's son Heihachi where they became inseparable friends. In time, the two came to fall in love and got married where she took his family name where she went by Kazumi Mishima (三島 一美 Mishima Kazumi?). She eventually came to be pregnant with his child and gave birth to a healthy boy the couple named Kazuya Mishima. It was said that she was overjoyed at her son where she doted to him when he was a child. After the birth of her son, Kazuya, Kazumi Mishima found herself trapped in an escalating internal conflict as the Devil Gene dormant within her blood began to exert a darker influence over her soul. While she deeply loved her husband, Heihachi, she watched with growing dread as his ambition and lust for power transformed the Mishima Zaibatsu into a global threat, confirming a prophetic vision she held regarding his eventual path of destruction. As Kazuya grew, Kazumi’s health appeared to decline, yet this physical frailty masked a spiritual transformation; she eventually succumbed to her supernatural instinct, which dictated that the Mishima bloodline had to be extinguished to save the world from ruin. This culminated in a fateful night within the Mishima Dojo where she shed her human facade, manifested her Devil form, and attempted to assassinate Heihachi in cold blood. Despite her supernatural prowess and the assistance of her pet tiger, she was ultimately overpowered by her husband’s monstrous strength. In her final moments, she pleaded with him to stop, but Heihachi, believing her to be completely consumed by the demon, strangled her to death, an act that effectively shattered the family and set the stage for the decades of generational warfare that followed.

Powers and abilities
As a member of the Hachijo family, it was shown that she possessed the Devil Gene (デビルの血 Debiru no Chi?, Devil's Blood). The Devil Gene granted Kazumi a suite of supernatural abilities that transcended the limits of standard Mishima-style karate, most notably the power to undergo a physical and spiritual metamorphosis. Upon awakening this dark bloodline, she gained the capacity to transform into Devil Kazumi, a state that saw her skin turn a porcelain white and her eyes glow with a malevolent light, while her physical strength and speed were amplified to superhuman levels. This genetic curse allowed her to manifest and manipulate crimson energy, which she could discharge as devastating projectiles or use to augment her physical strikes with explosive force. Furthermore, the gene provided her with the gift of levitation, enabling her to hover above the battlefield and strike from unpredictable angles, as well as a limited form of precognition that warned her of the impending doom the Mishima family would bring to the world. Perhaps most uniquely, her connection to this power allowed her to summon and command a spiritual tiger during combat, a manifestation that acted as an extension of her will to maul and distract her opponents while she channeled the raw, destructive essence of the Devil.
She was well-versed in the fighting style of Hachijō Karate.
