Biography

The Lost Empire

Kidagakash Nedakh was a female Atlantean who was born in the ancient continent of Atlantis over 90,000 years ago when her people lived on the surface and began to dominate their world thanks to their advanced technology. However, the great disaster occurred with a massive tsunami coming that wiped out most of the cities on Atlantis. During the catastrophe, she was fleeing with her parents but became separated from her mother when the power of the Heart of Atlantis possessed her. The act shielded the central part of the city which sunk beneath the sea until it settled underground. Her father was the only other survivor of her family and was the King of the people making Kida herself the princess of the Atlantean race.

Many thousands of years later, she grew to adulthood but remained young thanks to the ancient powers of her people. She left the protective cavern where the city was located with a group of her people who went to explore the caverns. Wearing her mask like her comrades, she discovered Humans from the surface world travelling through the ancient tunnels. Following them, she entered into their base camp whilst they slept where she discovered a picture of a young Milo Thatch and his grandfather. She fled before anyone saw her whilst the Humans were beseeched by the firefly creatures. Her party ambushed the Human survivors as they made their way into the cavern containing the city. She demanded to know who they were in her own language, speaking to Milo Thatch who managed to speak the language to a limited degree. During the course of conversation, she revealed that she was aware of their language and began speaking French.

When she demonstrated her knowledge in French, Mole whispered something in her ear and she punched him in the stomach. When the leader of the expedition spoke English and said that they were explorers from the surface, Kida welcomed them to the city of Atlantis. Her scouting party then escorted Milo and his comrades to the city as Kida wished for them to meet her father. Upon entering the throne room, she was scolded by her father in their native language for breaking the law which stated no outsiders were to see the city and live. She attempted to argue her case that the outsiders could help solve their problems but her father the King angrily said that the matter was closed. During the discussion with the commander of the surface dweller expedition, the King reluctantly allowd them to stay for a single night and told them to leave once they had rested.

After the outsiders were escorted out of the throne room, the King said to Kida that her heart had softened as a thousand years ago she would have slain the intruders without a thought. She angrily replied by saying that a thousand years ago, their people did not have to scavenge at the edges of the city in order to survive. Her father the King said that their people were content but Kida argued by saying that they did not know any better and that if the Kings of their past could see them, they would weep for they were once a great people not relegated to living in ruin. She had hoped that the outsiders would help them unlock the secrets of their past but her father said that what the outsiders had to teach them, the people of Atlantis had learnt a long time ago which was violence and destruction. Kida said that their way of life was dying but the King was sure that their way was preserved and that when Kida took the throne, she would understand then.

Upon leaving the throne room, she hid up by the ceiling in order to ambush Milo Thatch and took him away in order to learn answers to her questions and stated that he would not leave until he had answered them. Once entering a secluded area, she said she had many questions about his world and determined that Milo was a scholar due to his thin phyisque and large head made her believe that he was not suited for other tasks. She then asked him a series of questions like his country of origin and when the flood waters receded. He stopped her before she could ask anymore by saying that they both get a turn to ask each other a question to which Kida agreed. His first question was how Atlantis came to be deep beneath the earth to which Kida replied by saying that it was said that the gods banished them to the bowels of the earth when they grew jealous of their power and sent a great cataclysm that sunk the city.

She then asked Milo a question which was how they discovered their city to which he showed the Shepherd's Journal. Whilst reading it, she realized that it contained Atlantean writing and asked him if he could read it. Milo then came to the realization that Kida could not and she said that her people lost the ability to read their language since the time of the Great Flood. She then asked him to show him her skills and he began reading from the Journal to which she learnt more about her people. Taking Milo with her, she showed him an ancient Atlantean vehicle and asked him to show her how to operate it. Reading the inscriptions on the vehicle, he managed to show her the means to activate and operate the craft but when Milo pressed a button, the machine accelerated into a wall. He then asked her if there was something to eat and whilst climbing a tower, he said his name was Milo and she revealed her name to him. At the top, she showed him the city and began showing him the rest of their people whilst learning about Milo's comrades. She then revealed that her people as a culture were dying slowly and pleaded for his help in reading a mural which she believed contained the secrets for their survival. Taking Milo with her, the two swam to the bottom of the lake to read the sunken mural.

Whilst diving and helping Milo when he was reading the mural, he revealed to her that the crystal that she wore and the power that kept Atlantis safe was the Heart of Atlantis. She asked him where it was which he did not know and came to the realization that the missing page in the Journal was taken by his expedition crew. When they surfaced, Kida was attacked by the mercenary soldiers of the expedition who held her captive whilst they sought the plunder the ancient city of its crystal fortune. Using her as a hostage, Rourke got the King to disarm his guards and the mercenary leader beat up Kida's father in order to learn where the Heart was. Whilst sitting on the throne, he learnt it was in a secret passage in the watery fountain in front of the throne and taking Helga, Milo and the captive Kida with him, they descended into the underground passage.

She was then in a large cavern with the Heart floating in the air above her and her captors. It glowed with a blue light and the stony masks of Atlantis's previous kings surrounded it. Humbled, she knelt before it and began speaking words in her language until Milo helped her up and said he was sorry for what he had done. Whilst Rourke argued with Milo on how to get the crystal which was suspended over a bottomless pit of water, Kida felt the call of the crystal as it connected to the one around her neck. She fell into a type of trance and began to approach it. A possessed Kida told Milo Thatch in her language that everything was going to be ok. She then walked over the lake till she was beneath the Heart whereupon she was levitated into it. Its power transformed her as it merged with Kida, turning her skin into a liquid crystal like substance. She then went back to the ground above the waters of the lake where she remained silent until Milo called out her name. She then opened her eyes and approached him whilst the large stony masks that surrounded the heart fell into the lake.

Once she approached land, Rourke and his mercenaries closed her into a steel box and prepared her for transportation to the surface in order to sell her and her powers to the highest bidder. She was saved by Milo who led his friends and Atlanteans on the ancient Atlantis flying machines to retrieve her. When she was returned to the city and freed, she used her powers to save Atlantis from a lava flow that was realized during the struggle to free her. Using the powers of the Heart, she levitated to the sky as the stony masks of Atlantean Kings surrounded her and powered gigantic humanoid machines that created an energy shield that saved the city. With its task complete, the crystal separated from her and levitated her back to the ground where she held a golden bracelet that her mother had before she was possessed. With her father dead from his injuries sustained by Rourke, she became the ruling Queen of Atlantis and used a large flying craft to take Milo's friends back to the surface with a large amount of gold as a reward for their help. Milo stayed with her as the two became romantically involved and helped her in carving a large stony mask which they crafted in the image of her father. She then used its power to cause it to levitate into the sky and surrounded the Heart which had taken its new place above the city of Atlantis whilst she watched her people rejuvenated due to its power with many wondrous machines moving about the city.

She was also greatly saddened by the loss of her mother when she was younger and wished to know the secret of the light that claimed her when she was a young girl.

Powers and abilities

Due to her unique Atlantean nature, she had an extended lifespan making her between 85,000 to 88,000 years old. Around her neck, she wore a necklace that held an Atlantean crystal which allowed her to power some of their ancient technologies.

She was a skilled fighter and capable of nimbly moving about her environment. She was capable of climbing up the ceiling and dropping behind opponents who were unaware of her location. Furthermore, she was quite able to sneak about in the dark and scout locations. Her fighting skills allowed her to fight against several opponents at once and she made use of a small knife as a weapon against them.

Kida spoke the Atlantean language and due to its nature as being a possible root language for all the others, she was capable of not only speaking English but French as well. Sumerian and Latin were also another two root languages that would comprise a basic Atlantean dialect. However, like all her people that survived the Mabermok Great Flood, she was unable to read her peoples language.

When bonded to the Heart of Atlantis, her skin became a liquid crystal in color and she gained the ability to levitate. Furthermore, she had the power of energizing and controlling the ancient Atlantean machines which were capable of creating a force field that can shield the city from a lava flow from an active volcano.
