King Solomon's Frogs are artifacts that feature in Marvel Comics.

History

The Brass Frog in Black Panther 1 #1.

In actual fact, there were three Brass Frogs that were all components of the Concordance Engine and embodied its power. (Defenders v4 #8) They had been observing the Uatu the Watcher as long as he had been observing them. (Black Panther Annual v1 2008)

During their time with King Solomon, the Brass Frogs frequently possible future timelines and found one where Black Panther and Storm's marriage brought about the rise of a new dynasty. The Frogs determined that they could not allow this come to pass and believed that they could not allow the Wakandans to rule the world. (Black Panther Annual v1 2008)

T'Challa had Taku gather King Solomon's Frogs where he used them in conjunction with one another to teleport to the battle with Galactus. They were kept safe in the battle and late used to transport the Fantastic Four along with their allies back to Earth from deep space. (Fantastic Four v1 #546)

Overview

One warped space whilst the other warped time allowing the pair together to be used as a teleportation device that operated instantaneously. (Fantastic Four v1 #546) This allowed them to effectively move through time. (Black Panther Annual v1 2008)

In actuality, the frogs were components of a Concordance Engine and derived from its ability. Each piece of the set thus manipulated the elements of space folding, time and a third. (Defenders v4 #8)

Though seemingly inanimate objects, they were actually able to move under their own power and communicate. (Black Panther Annual v1 2008)

  • King Solomon's Frogs were created by Jack Kirby where they made their first appearance in Black Panther v1 #1 (January, 1977).
  • They received an entry in the Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe A-Z Update v1 #2 (2010) where they were referred to as the Brass Frogs.

Alternate Versions

  • In Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes Adventures v1 #3 (2012), King Solomon's Frogs appeared in a back-up storyline of the issue that was set as a comic tie-in to the animated series.
