History
The Knights of the Moon were originally a group that was known as the Cult of Khonshu. It was a fanatical Middle Eastern organization that was dedicated in serving the Egyptian god of vengeance. At some point, Nepthys joined the Cult of Khonshu and used it to hide underground from the world. (Marc Spector: Moon Knight v1 #36) Over time, she would take over the cult and transform it into a terrorist force that hired their services to other parties. (Marc Spector: Moon Knight v1 #37)
Plasma served as one of its early leaders and she believed herself to be the rightful heir to the Living Pharaoh. Thus, she wished to position herself as the planet's foremost terrorist leader and sought to unite all the cults of the Middle East. Afterwards, the group fell under the deranged rule of Nepthys who sought to replace Moon Knight as the avatar of Khonshu with his psychotic brother Shadowknight. On bother occasions, the cult were defeated by Moon Knight and his allies in the form of Ghost Rider as well as Punisher. (Marc Spector: Moon Knight v1 #37)
A cult dedicated to Khonshu came to be formed by a woman named Princess Nepthys. They came to abduct people in order to sacrifice them in the name of Khonshu. Their activities eventually drew the attention of Moon Knight who infiltrated their church in order to shut down their activities. (Moon Knight v7 #17)
Overview
In appearance, the Cult of Khonshu were a group that worshipped the moon god Khonshu. They tended to garb themselves in white clothes and wore the symbol of their god. (Marc Spector: Moon Knight v1 #35)
It was claimed that their faith could not be tempted and that their mission could not be stopped. Some were shown to be willing to kill themselves in the pursuit of the goals of their god. They were not noted for their fighting skill but made up for this with their numbers. (Marc Spector: Moon Knight v1 #35)
