Laverne (Creepshow)
Laverne was a student at Horlicks University and apparent girlfriend of Deke. She and Deke drove out to Cascade Lake with their friends Randy and Rachel, where the four were confronted by a strange black substance coating the surface of the water, which devoured Rachel and stranded the other three on a wooden raft. Deke was eaten shortly afterward, and it was into Randy's arms that a grief-stricken Laverne found comfort after witnessing her boyfriend's death.
During the night, the two took turns standing guard and observing the monster's movements. The following morning, Laverne found herself the object of Randy's sexual advances. She didn't resist. Before the pair could get started however, the monster oozed up through the cracks between the raft's wood planks and grabbed Laverne. She screamed and was pulled overboard before a terrified Randy's eyes. She was engulfed entirely and then surfaced, briefly, as a slime-drenched skeleton before getting sucked back down.
