Lee Barrett
Lee Barrett was once an SDI agent who served as the chief of security for Station 3. A Korean War veteran, he was dishonorably discharged for punching a major-general. He was fired from his job at Station 3 due to his moral objections against biological warfare. He became a lawyer afterward, but his business did poorly and he lived aboard his yacht. When Station 3 was robbed and his successor Reagan found murdered, Barrett was approached by his former superior in the SDI, Eric Cavanaugh, to try and catch the killers. Barrett obliged and discovered that not only had the intruders killed Reagan, they'd also murdered Dr. Baxter and stolen a flask of the deadly Satan Bug and several more containing botulinus.
Assisted by Ann Williams, Barrett made every effort to track them down. The two were captured by Donald and Veretti, who, it turned out, were working for Dr. Gregor Hoffman - in reality the maniacal Charles Reynolds Ainsley. Eluding the authorities, Ainsley separated from his henchmen, leaving Barrett and Ann with Donald and Veretti while he planned to release a strain of botulinus in Los Angeles. Two SDI agents caught up to the group and after a tense standoff outside a filling station, Ainsley's henchmen forced the agents to surrender and took them prisoner. They locked Barrett and the agents inside the building, but took Ann with them. Veretti threw a flask of botulinus into the building, shattering it.
Although the two agents became infected and died, Barrett escaped and survived. He encountered Ainsleys, who had the Satan Bug, and attempted to force him to take him to where the flask of botulinus in Los Angeles was. Ainsley obliged, but gained the upper hand over Barrett when two of his other henchmen, disguised as SDI agents, arrived. Barrett was able to kill one and knock the other out, but Ainsley (literally) held the flask of Satan Bug over his enemy's head, forcing a surrender once more. The two boarded Ainsley's private helicopter with the understanding that Ainsley would fly Barrett to Los Angeles.
In reality, Ainsley intended nothing of the sort. His pilot then attempted to kill Barrett and a fight broke out. Barrett threw the pilot out, recovering his gun as well as the flask of Satan Bug, which Ainsley had dropped in the scuffle. He demanded the location of the Los Angeles flask. Rather than tell him, Ainsley committed suicide and jumped from the helicopter. Barrett took over the pilotless chopper and contacted General Williams to learn that Ann had been rescued and the final flask of botulinus recovered.
