American

One of the customers who was in the Jolly Cricketers during Griffin's siege of it. He was a foreigner, and the only one who carried a gun. He joined the barman, an off-duty constable and two cab drivers in fighting the invisible man to protect Thomas Marvel, and ultimately a lucky shot wounded Griffin and made him flee.

Anemic Cabman

A cab driver who was in the Jolly Cricketers. He was sickly-looking and apparently under the weather. Despite this, he - along with another cabman - participated in the group effort to fend off the attacking Griffin.

Barman

Owner of the Jolly Cricketers in Port Burdock. When Thomas Marvel was fleeing from Griffin, the barman allowed the tramp to hide in his establishment. When Griffin tried to break in to get to Marvel, the barman joined his customers in fending off the invisible man. They were successful.

Elderly Mariner

An old sailor Thomas Marvel sat next to outside of an inn in Port Stowe. The mariner was reading a newspaper about the invisible man's attacks in Iping, and, attempting to make small talk with Marvel, said he believed the story was true, since it wouldn't be in the news if it wasn't. Marvel tried to convince him it was a hoax (despite knowing it wasn't). The mariner became angry at having been duped by the papers. Later, however, secondhand stories of the invisible man robbing people, from another mariner he knew, convinced him the stories were true and Marvel lied.

First Policeman

The first of two Port Burdock constables working directly under Colonel Adye. He and the second accompanied Adye to Dr. Kemp's house after getting the doctor's letter that Griffin was staying with him. He and the second policeman chased Griffin, but lost him. Later, the two were escorting Kemp's maid back to the house when they found it under attack from Griffin. Kemp let the three inside to hide and told the officers Griffin had shot Adye. When Griffin broke in, armed with an axe, the constables fended him off using pokers. The first constable was hit upside the head with the axe, but thanks to his helmet, was only stunned and survived.

Housemaid

Dr. Kemp's servant in Port Burdock. She unknowingly let Griffin into the house when someone rang the doorbell and she opened it to find (she thought) no one. She told an inquiring Kemp it was a rung-and-run, likely a prank by some children. Later, when Kemp thought up a plan to capture Griffin using himself as bait, he sent the housemaid with a letter outlining his plan to Colonel Adye. Griffin attacked her and took the letter, but she made it safely to the police station.

She was escorted back to Kemp's house by Adye's constables, and the three found the house under siege, and Kemp let them inside. Just then, Griffin broke in. Whilst the two officers fended off Griffin, Kemp and the housemaid escaped out a window. The two of them went their separate ways in fleeing from the invisible man. As he was interested only in Kemp, Griffin ignored the maid and went after Kemp, and she was able to escape unharmed.

Hunchback

The hunchbacked owner of a costume shop near Drury Lane in London. It was into his store Griffin came looking for clothes after failing to acquire them at Omnium's. The man had very acute hearing. Despite Griffin's invisibility, the hunchback noted his presence, but, as he couldn't see the intruder, couldn't account for the noises. Initially he chalked it up to rats. When Griffin made too much noise rummaging through some clothes and knocked over some stored lumber, the shop owner, finding the mess, decided it was "her," apparently a jilted lover or ex-wife.

Eventually, though, the man began to slowly realize the truth, or something of it, and, arming himself with a revolver, began locking the house up, intent on trapping his unseen intruder. When Griffin realized what the hunchback was doing, he sneaked up behind him and knocked him unconscious and tied him up. The hunchback was still tied up when Griffin left, and he admitted to Kemp he had no idea what became of the hunchback. Kemp objected angrily to Griffin's treatment of this man, but Griffin justified it by claiming he was desperate and had not killed him, at least.

Jewish Landlord

Griffin's Jewish landlord in London during the time he began his experiments. He had two stepsons. He was suspicious of Griffin's work and took the advice of another tenant, an elderly woman, that Griffin was a vivisectionist, and tried to evict him. Griffin drove him off. Later, after Griffin was already invisible, the landlord, his stepsons and the old woman broke into his apartment, finding him "gone." The landlord and his stepsons, upon actually seeing Griffin's equipment, concluded he was an electrician rather than a vivisectionists. Nevertheless, Griffin, fearful that the men might discover his secret after an examination of the devices, smashed them and set fire to the apartment. The entire building ended up burning down. Griffin justified this to Dr. Kemp by saying it was insured.

Off-Duty Policeman

A Port Burdock constable off duty in the Jolly Cricketers. He didn't have his truncheon with him when the bar's customers fought off Griffin to protect Thomas Marvel, but was nonetheless successful at repelling the invisible man until another customer, armed with a gun, could drive Griffin off.

Old Woman

An elderly tenant in the same London apartment building as Griffin. Nosy and suspicious, she convinced herself the young scientist was a vivisectionist, and persuaded their landlord of this, and attempted to have him evict Griffin. When she and the landlord broken into Griffin's apartment after he'd made himself invisible, the woman was disappointed at finding no "horrors" and remained convinced Griffin was a vivisectionist even when the landlord and his two educated stepsons concluded he'd actually been a machinist or electrician.

Second Cabman

A Port Burdock cab driver. When Griffin was assaulting the Jolly Cricketers to try and get to the hiding Thomas Marvel, he came over to see what all the commotion was about, and entered during a lull in the action, when the barman and customers couldn't ascertain Griffin's whereabouts. Suddenly, Griffin seized Marvel. The newly arrived cabman joined the others present in coming to Marvel's rescue.

Second Policeman

The second of two Port Burdock constables working directly under Colonel Adye. He and the first accompanied Adye to Dr. Kemp's house after getting Kemp's letter that Griffin was staying with him. He and the first policeman chased Griffin, but lost him. Later, the two were escorting Kemp's maid back to the house when they found it under attack from Griffin. He and his partner fought the invisible man, who was armed with an axe, using fireplace pokers. A blow from his poker broke Griffin's arm. When Kemp escaped rather than stay and fight, the second policeman thought him a coward. Fortunately for him and his wounded partner, Griffin, uninterested in them, abandoned fighting them to pursue Kemp.
