Biography
Overview
Personality and attributes
Baron Meier Link was a member of the powerful group of vampires known as the Nobility. He appeared as a young gentlemen in elegant clothing with a pale face, white hair and red eyes along with handsome features. Link also wore black clothing and a long cape.
Link was noted as being somewhat different compared to other members of his kind. He only killed out of necessity and did not go out of his way to terrorise Humans as other vampires did. Furthermore, he was also in love with the Human Lady Charlotte. This was a genuine reciprocable relationship between the two of them as both were deeply in love with one another. However, many others believed that Meier had dominated her mind with his formidable mental powers but this was not the case As such, his motive was to find a place where he and Charlotte could live in peace and be free from the persecution of their forbidden romance. This meant that he gained some level of respect from both Humans and Vampires.
His devotion to Charlotte meant that he frequently fought with his own nature to feed on Human blood which he did so through sheer force of will. Ultimately, as he told the vampire hunter D, the urge to feed was strong and would eventually win though this did not prevent him from trying to live with Charlotte. To accomplish this, he sought to attain starship travel away from the Earth and go into space where they would be alone.
A unique aspect of his upbringing also meant that he had certain pieces of technology that were believed to have been long destroyed. This included a Rest House, a large mirror like tower where Meier slept during day time.
Powers and abilities
Like most members of the Nobility, Meier Link has powers above that of a normal Human or Vampire.
His powers meant that he was stronger, faster and has better reflexes then that of a normal person. Meier's also possessed full regenerative abilities allowing him to heal his injuries at an accelerated rate. He also had the power to feed on the blood of Humans and turn them into vampires. Furthermore, he could change parts of his hands into demonic claws to slash at enemies. He was even able to reform after being slashed through the face by a vampiric illusionary power. He also possessed the power of flight allowing him to glide across his environment. Link's power was beyond that of his apparent age as he could deform crucifices, crack mirrors and wilt plants through his very presence.
Meier's cape also served as an extension of his own body allowing him to use it in battle. It could be extended to serve as a wing that can cover him from a rocket attack and deflect the shattered remnants of the weapon back at an opponent. Through it he could also fly across his environment and use it as a powerful bladed weapon easily able to combat against the strongest of swords as well as cut an enemy to pieces.
Similar to most members of the Nobility, he had certain weaknesses to the traditional vampiric weapons which included burning in the presence of direct sunlight. This would ultimately be able to kill him but through sheer force of will he had the power of standing in front of the sun in order to save Charlotte. His will was particularly strong as he survived numerous silver arrows pierced through his skin whilst in day light and still walk though he was in a great deal of pain.
