Mesogog

Mesogog is a male reptilian television villain who features in Power Rangers.

Biography

Mesogog was a hybrid Dinosaur mutation who was created, accidentally, by Dr. Anton Mercer through a formula which he drank. Anton would feel his transformation to Mesogog about to happen when he felt everything going slow. He destroyed the laboratory of Dr. Anton Mercer and his partner, Dr. Thomas Oliver, and took their latest project, the Tyrannodrones. Mesogog modified their programming to turn on their masters. Mesogog also abducted the injured Smith, Terrence "Smitty" and made cybernetic improvements on his body, turning him into the cyborg warrior Zeltrax. Mesogog later transformed a woman named Elsa into a mutant servant, and gave her the guise of being the Reefside High School Principal, Ms. Randall.

He next built the Genome Randomizer to create his cybernetic mutants. Mesogog captured the Reefside student Kira Ford when she took the yellow Dino Gem from the DT Lab.

Years later, in 2004, Mesogog resurfaces after three high-school students recover the Dino Gems, sending his Tyrannodrones to catch the students and recover the Gems for him. After the three students manage to beat Mesogog's army thanks to their new powers given by the Gems, Mesogog sends his Tyrannodrones one more time to capture one of the three students, this time he succeeds and captures Kira Ford. Mesogog meets Kira and asks her where are the Dino Gems but she tells her that she gave them away. Unfortunately for Mesogog, Kira then gets into a tussle with his henchwoman Elsa as she tries to run away from her and Zeltrax, finding an Invisiportal and getting away. But Mesogog plans were interrupted when Tommy managed to steal the three Dino Gems and use them to create the Dino Thunder Power Rangers. The next day, Mesogog orders an attack on Reefside, freeing the Biozords so they can begin their rampage through the city streets. Zeltrax then arrives with his ship and begins his attack as commanded by Mesogog but Tommy Oliver and his three students show up, they then morph into the Dino Rangers, the Rangers then defeat the Tyrannodrones and Zeltrax. The Dino Rangers tame the Zords, form the Thundersaurus Megazord and destroy Zeltrax's ship with their Tyranno Drill. When Zeltrax returns to the Island Fortress, Mesogog punished him and Elsa for their failure with a psionic brain-blast and warns them as a lesson that he did not take defeat lightly. After Mesogog realizes that Tommy found three eggs containing the unborn Raptor Riders, he orders to initiate the Geno-Randomizer and create a monster so he can stop Tommy from training the new dino creatures, unfortunately he's unsuccessful as Tommy manages to train the Raptor Riders and send them to aid the Rangers, who then quickly destroy his monster. Mesogog later finds a mysterious energy crystal stone that contained some great power but could not find a way to open it, so he sends his army to kidnap Tommy Oliver so that he can forced him to help him open the stone. Mesogog tortures Tommy by draining him with his life-force extractor while telling him that his goal was returning Earth to its prehistoric roots, when Tommy continues to refuse helping Mesogog, he keeps draining his life. Just as Mesogog gives Tommy an ultimatum, the Ranger later go to his fortress in their Raptor Cycles to rescue Tommy. Mesogog meets the three Rangers in his fortress, but is stopped by his lackeys, though he and his army later confront the Rangers as they just freed Tommy from his captivity, with Mesogog taking on Tommy himself and beating him until he managed to steal the stone and run away with the Rangers through an invisiportal. When his lackeys follow the four heroes, Tommy uses the stone to block one of Zeltrax's attacks, revealing the stone to be the Black Dino Gem, which lets him transform into the Black Dino Ranger, adding a fourth Ranger to Mesogog's enemies.

Mesogog was able to capture two Dino Gems - a black gem and a white gem. The Black Dino Gem was stolen by Dr. Oliver and it made him the Black Dino Thunder Ranger. The White Dino Gem had a hidden program to make its user violent and evil- Mesogog was angry when the Gem was stolen by none other than Trent Fernandez, the ward of Anton Mercer. When Trent, controlled by the Gem's programming, learned of his father's secret identity, Mesogog made Trent join him. Anton didn't want his son to become one of Mesogog's slaves, and made a bold move to free his son from the Gem's programming, making Mercer an enemy of himself. Mesogog created his own monster, by his own powers, using Mercer's prize winning plant.

Mesogog joined forces with Lothor and his resurrected Space Ninjas, and fought the Ninja Storm Rangers and the Dino Thunder Rangers. When their plan failed, Lothor and Mesogog turned on each other, and Mesogog trapped Lothor in one of his mutation jars. Mesogog was able to separate himself from Mercer, becoming more insane and determined to rule the world. He did away with Elsa to power his mutation cannon, which would turn all humans into dinosauric mutants like himself. Mesogog tricked Trent into giving him the Dino Gems to save his father, and though he succeeded, Mesogog failed as his island fortress was destroyed. Trent and Anton made it back to Reefside through an invisiportal. Mesogog also made it back to Reefside, and emerged as a powerful mutant monster. Mesogog was destroyed by the Dino Thunder Rangers when they used all of their Dino Gem power, causing their powers to be lost forever.

Overview

Personality and attributes

While mostly calm, tranquil, and unemotional, Mesogog is a sadistic, evil, sinister, manipulative and cold-hearted mastermind who will do anything in his power to ensure his dream of bringing the Earth back into the age of the dinosaurs is brought to fruition. Mesogog was also highly authoritative and aggressive, as Elsa and Zeltrax feared him, enough to obey any order from him and try not to incur his wrath. He was also very abusive, oppressive, and merciless towards his minions, and punished them by telepathically attacking them if they failed him. Mesogog hated the Dino Thunder Power Rangers and stopped at nothing to destroy them. Despite his villainous tendencies, he also had a mature, polite, and sophisticated side although his politeness seemed more like hatred and abuse on his victims with it being kept as a facade for the sake of mocking them.

Powers and abilities

Mesogog was a vile dinosauric mutant with psionic powers. Mesogog feels that the world should return to the prehistoric age, and wipe out the entire human race. He used the intelligence of cybernetic engineering to create his mutant cyborgs to do his bidding. Mesogog uses his psionic powers to torture his servants and his enemies. Mesogog is also equipped with martial arts that he uses to fight his enemies.
