History
The Mold was a fungal based Bio-Organic Weapon that was being developed as a bio-weapon in the modern age. Its origins were traced to 2000 as one of several concepts for the company's NEXBAS (next-generation experimental battlefield superiority) initiative that received technical assistance from H.C.F. to develop a bio-weapon for neutralising combatants in large numbers with minimum direct contact. NEXBAS was closed down with its projects assets being relocated to a new project. This new concept was different from other weapons as it had the capacity to turn enemy combatants into allies that converting hostile elements into friendly ones thus eliminating the cost of holding prisoners of war and ending any further combat. It was the discovery of a mutamycete fungus that progressed vicariant evolition that developed into the bio-weapon. The first of the E-Series perfected weapons was designated as Eveline who was able to secrete the mutamycete from her tissue at will.
Overview
When introduced into a host organism, the mutamycete imposed a profound control over the mind and body. A working theory was that the control was maintained through autoinducer pheromone vector that was used for quorum sensing in pseudomonas bacteria.
The creation of the bio-weapon went through a fabrication process that required the mutamycete genome being inserted into pre-Stage 4 human embryos. Afterwards, cultivation was performed in a controlled environment over a period of 38-40 weeks. Resultant organisms were called the 'candidate specimens' that were graded based on usability ranging from impractical and faulty which were Series A-D to the perfection E-Series. A common appearance was decided for these weapon models with them resembling roughly 10 year old girls to ensure that they blended into refugee or urban populations.
