Biography

Origin

Eric Morden

As a master criminal, Morden decided to steal the Chief's lunar exploration robot named Rog and go on a rampage. Within the machine, he managed to defeat the Doom Patrol which was part of his efforts in impressing the Brotherhood of Evil so that he could be admitted into their ranks. Thus, he travelled to the Brotherhood's headquarters in Paris where Madame Rouge escorted him to meet their leader the Brain. The Brain was impressed by the efforts of Morden and ordered him to take Rog for a renewed attack against the Patrol to finally eliminate them. Morden agreed though the Brain decided to send his ally Monsieur Mallah to accompany him in Rog to ensure their hated enemy's defeat. (Doom Patrol v1 #86)

Mr. Nobody

Afterwards, he was removed from the Brotherhood with the Brain and Monsieur Mallah telling him that if they ever saw him again that they would kill him. This saw Morden hiding in Paraguay in South America where he lived at the home of a scientist named Dr. Bruckner. The had been a doctor and war criminal in hiding due to the psychological experiments he conducted in death camps. Bruckner offered to change him through a forbidden experiment involving the ‘White Room’ with Morden accepting think it was something akin to plastic surgery allowing him to be free to roam the world once more and join society. He then took part in the experiment where he sat within a white room where an injection kept him immobile inside a suit as he was forced to remain there for three days. On the first day, he went insane and later came to contemplate a black dot in his vision where over a period of time his sense of being was transformed leading to an explosion as he became Mr. Nobody. He then killed them all whereupon he roamed the world where his very nature meant that things that were not wanted were drawn to him. (Doom Patrol v2 #26)

Rather than create a new Brotherhood of Evil, Mr. Nobody felt that concepts of good and evil did not exist. Instead, he sought to create an age of unreason with him forming the Brotherhood of Dada. (Doom Patrol v2 #26)

As Mister Somebody, he took over the body of a man named Thayer Jost and used him as part of his schemes. (Doom Patrol v5 #12)

Post-Flashpoint

Following the Flashpoint, a new version of reality was created with a different history of events.

Overview

Personality and attributes

It was the scientist Bruckner who named him Herr Niemand (Mr. Nobody). (Doom Patrol v2 #26) For a time, he was changed into Mr. Somebody where he became a white version of his former black form. (Doom Patrol v5 #12)

He found the concepts of good and evil to be outmoded ideas of an antique age. Mr. Nobody believed that he and others like him were proof that there was no truth or reason and good or evil with the universe itself being a drooling idiot with no fashion sense. Instead, he sought to celebrate the absurdity of life and wanted to begin an age of unreason. (Doom Patrol v2 #26)

At some point, he used his powers to create himself a daughter who went by the name of Terry None. She could only exist because of him which meant that wherever he went then she would follow. (Doom Patrol v6 #10)

Powers and abilities

Originally, Morden had no special abilities but was a skilled spy. (Doom Patrol v1 #86) After going through an experiment, he was transformed with Morden said to be no more as he became an Abstract Man, a Virtual Man and a Notional Man. (Doom Patrol v2 #26)

As Mr. Somebody, he had the power to possess other people and use them as host bodies. (Doom Patrol v5 #12)

He once controlled a company that he called M.S.E. (Mister Somebody Enterprises) that was managed by a host body of Thayer Jost. (Doom Patrol v5 #12)
