They later emerged where they struck at a pharmaceutical laboratory that was manufacturing a vaccine designed to prevent the X-Gene from manifesting thus preventing the emergence of new Mutants. This brought the Mutant Liberation Front into conflict with the X-Men who arrived on the scene. (Uncanny X-Men v5 #1)

- The Mutant Liberation Front was created by Rob Liefeld and Louise Simonson where they made their first appearance in New Mutants v1 #86 (February, 1990).

- In The Gifted, the Mutant Liberation Front were mentioned in the live-action television series in the episode "rX". They were referred to as one of a number of outlaw Mutant organizations that included the Mutant Underground and the Brotherhood of Mutants.
