Nephilim (Monster Ark)
The Nephilim were a type of creature that featured in the Sci Fi movie Monster Ark.
History
The Nephilim was not a single creature but an entire race of demons, giants and other monstrous beings that populated the ancient world before the Flood. In those old times, the race terrorized the ancient world of Man until their numbers were culled till only one of them remained. This last creature was persecuted by the Darkness - possibly the Devil himself - and fed on its anger and pain. These acts propelled the monster into acts of destruction as it sought to bring about a dark age by destroying all of Humanity. The demon was a creature created by God Himself and was born before Man but for reasons unknown, it could not be destroyed. Thus, God bade Noah to build an Ark; one to hold two of every animal and a second one which would capture the last Nephilim and take it to a place where it could be banished.
Whilst the Ark was on its way, furious storms gripped the world that had been engulfed by the Flood as the Darkness fought against God for control of the creature. During the struggle, the ship fell apart and sunk to the bottom of the sea with its cargo; the dormant monster that waited in its prison until it could be released. When the world was remade after the Flood, the descendants of Noah formed an order that sought to maintain the secret of the Earth after the Flood and to ensure that the beast was never freed.
In the 21st century, that danger came to pass when archaeologist Nicholas Zavaterro and his team discovered the location of the sunken Ark through the lost Genesis Scrolls. Through it, they learnt of the location of the second Ark which had sunk in what was now Iraq. Taking a team there, they uncovered the Ark and accidently released the creature for they believed it was long dead. Freed from its imprisonment, the last of the Nephilim went about a rampage where it slaughtered everyone in its path before attempting to find Noah's tomb in order to destroy his staff; the one thing that could bring about its capture once more. Despite its attempts, the monster was once again imprisoned; this time by Nicholas Zavaterro who had unintentionally let it loose and used the power of Noah's staff to seal it within its prison Ark once more.
The Noahadai took possession of the prison Ark and hid it within a secret location in the hopes that the Secret and the monster would remain trapped for all of time.
Background
The demon was a bipedal demonic looking reptilian beast with a hard armoured skin and spindly arms which held sharp claws. The creature typically moved about on all fours with terrifying speed and was easily able to catch up to fleeing enemies. Once within range, it used its long arms to dismember its opponents leaving them as nothing more then shredded piles of meat. Its armoured nature meant that it could resist modern weaponry such as machine guns and even rockets as well as explosives with little diminishment in its capabilities or even speed. Even a collapsing tomb did not kill the creature which continued its rampage.
In addition to its natural abilities, the last of the Nephilim was highly intelligent. Able to plot traps and even track threats to its power by seeking out Noah's staff. Its one weakness was the power of the staff itself who's unique nature was capable of calling upon golden lightning from the skies itself to use against the beast. Despite this power, it was partially able to resist such divine energy but by stabbing the tip of the staff into the monsters chest, it was capable of being paralysed and left in its prison ark.
The Nephilim generated an internal energy that radiated in darkness and even was able to be picked upped upon by advanced equipment. Furthermore, it was immune to the ravages of time and was able to survive for over 5,000 years whilst in a hibernation-like state.
