Nestor NS-5

The Nestor NS-5 are a series of robots that feature in the movie I, Robot.

Background

The Nestor series are one of the latest machines created by U.S. Robotics. They were designed to replace previous models and USR began a series of recalls of previous models; replacing households with the newer NS-5. Each robot is outfitted with an uplink to USR. The uplink receives updates wirelessly from USR's central positronic brain, Virtual Interactive Kinetic Intelligence.

Due to their link to V.I.K.I. the Nestor series were completely under the control of the central computer allowing her to control them in order to force peace on Humanity. However, a single unique member of the series, Sonny, was not linked to the system and destroyed V.I.K.I. which shut down the remaining Nestor series which were also recalled due to the incident.
