Biography

The One-Above-All was a god-like cosmic being that was responsible for creating the Multiverse. With the formation of the cosmic hierarchy, the Living Tribunal was created who called the One-Above-All its master. (Thanos: The Infinity Finale v1 #1)

In the Seventh Cosmos, the One Above All created the planet Earth, which later led to the creation of the Demiruge who proceeded to create the Elder Gods. The beings were originally benevolent and served the One Above All by helping shape Earth as per His vision. Sadly these peaceful days of prosperity came to an end, when Vinruviel, a being that was not created by Him, defiled Earth by corrupting the Elder Gods, causing them to fight between them and lay waste on Earth. The One Above All intervened and ended the Godwar by helping create Atum the Demogorge. In response, Vinruviel, now known as the Mother of Horrors, created her son Udru to challenge Him. Becoming angry for the first time by her defiance, the One Above All used His divine fire to attack her. Vinruviel retaliated by piercing His body, seeding her corruption into Him, which lead to His anger manifesting as the One Below All. Thus, gamma radiation was born and with this power the vengeful One Below All travelled into the Earth to unleash his rage against the Mother of Horrors and killed her children. Deep within the planet, he created a tomb for her where she attempted to goad the One Below All to kill her so she could infect his body. However, he turned back into the One-Above-All who proceeded to imprison the Mother of Horrors with gamma as being the lock to keep her trapped there. (Incredible Hulk v6 #28) In the aftermath, the One Below All then began serving a role as a counterweight to the expanding life in the Multiverse, in order to create life anew through the cycle of death and rebirth of the Multiverse. (Immortal Hulk v1 #50)

One billion years ago, the One Above All again found itself forced to intervene when the first storm god, Hadad, grew so much in power he made the abstract entities his slaves. He confronted the evil god in the Dimension of Manifestations, and swiftly took him down. Although defeated, Hadad was not killed, and bid his time until he could reawaken and bring destruction once again with his fellow storm gods. (Storm v5 #8) Although defeated, Hadad wasn't killed, but was instead imprisoned inside Oblivion's realm, the Oblivion Void. (Storm v5 #12) Hadad bid his time until he could reawaken and bring destruction once again with his army of Black Winters. (Storm v5 #8)

The Mad Titan Thanos came to learn of the One-Above-All and its lore though was loathe to ever attempt any form of communication with it. (Thanos: The Infinity Finale v1 #1)

The Fantastic Four were offered an invitation by an agent of the maker to stay in Heaven. However, Reed Richards replied that their role as explorers meant that it was the journey itself that they sought and that they wanted to return to Earth. They were then rewarded with a visit into the realm of the One-Above-All who took on the form of Jack Kirby. (Fantastic Four v1 #511)

A doomsday cult known as Gorgon looked to acquire the Protolith and manifest it into the world where they intended to alter the world to their whims. Their plot was stopped by the intervention of Deadpool who made the One-Above-All learn of his cosmic relic being taken which resulted in the entity claiming it back. (Deadpool: Secret Agent Deadpool v1 #5)

Thanos came to encounter the One-Above-All as an ineffable light, speaking directly to his essence at the conclusion of a cosmic journey. The entity told Thanos that all things—great and small, destructive and noble—were part of the same infinite design. Even Thanos’ destructive impulses existed within the tapestry of existence, which the One-Above-All oversaw without judgment. (Thanos: The Infinity Finale v1 #1)

When the Hulk asked the One Below All why it was the way it was, the One Below All manifested its true face, the One Above All, and answered that the One Below All serves as the counterweight to the One Above All's creations, so they can build anew, and that, while the Hulk and the Gamma Mutates seem to serve such purpose, they choose which role they play, only using half their power (which is to destroy), their choices ultimately leading to this exact moment so the One Above All could ask the Hulk if he would be Geburah or Golachab before leaving. Hulk understood what They meant, leading him to forgive the Leader despite everything he had done. (Immortal Hulk v1 #50)

The One Above All encountered the Defenders, who were sent on a mission by Eternity to learn about an unknown threat, when they entered the House of Ideas. The Blue Marvel questioned the validity of the One Above All's name and the One Above All unleashed a wave of creatures from pre-"creation" upon the Defenders. Adam then clarified that the 'One Above All' was a primal creative force that was the highest they can go, but was still only the beginning of what it represented. He asked the One Above All if it knew if there is a final guiding hand to which the One Above All responded, 'The mystery intrigues me, Adam'. After telling Taaia that she could not return to the Sixth Cosmos with the knowledge of her son's future, America Chavez that she would find her sister and more, and Tigra that she would go home when the 'storyteller' would soon choose to, the One Above All then showed them a glimpse of Eternity's unknown enemy: the "Enigma" yet to come. (Defenders: Beyond v1 #5)

Overview

Personality and attributes

In appearance, the One-Above-All took on a variety of different forms such as manifesting as pure light, or as a presence too vast and luminous for mortals to perceive. The fluidity of its form reflected its role as the boundless source of creation, appearing in whatever guise was most meaningful to those encountering it. (Thanos: The Infinity Finale v1 #1) In another case, it took the form of an artist at this drawing board. (Fantastic Four v1 #511) It was also known as the Above-All-Others. (Thanos: The Infinity Finale v1 #1) A dark counterpart of the entity was known to exist in the form of One Below All. (Immortal Hulk v1 #12)

He was said to see through many eyes and build with many hands. All beings were their own entities but also part of the One-Above-All. He was described as being all powerful with his only weapon being love and that mystery intrigued him. (Ultimates 2 v1 #100)

Individuals saw the One-Above-All was to them which was something all his creations did as they found humanity in God. (Fantastic Four v1 #511)

He was regarded as the fundamental creative force of reality with mankind always being essential to his work. (Avengers: No Road Home v1 #10)

Powers and abilities

In powers, the One-Above-All stood as the supreme being in the universal cosmology. It existed above the Living Tribunal and every other cosmic entity, embodying absolute omnipotence, omniscience, and omnipresence. It could create, erase, or alter all of reality with a thought, but more importantly, it represented the underlying creative principle itself. Unlike Galactus, Eternity, or the Tribunal, who functioned as regulators or embodiments of universal forces, the OAA was the infinite source that gave rise to all of them. It had no rival, no equal, and no limitation, standing as the ultimate authority within the Marvel Multiverse (Fantastic Four v1 #511)

An artefact tied to the entity was the Protolith that was said to be part of 'the first rock' with all of creation tied to it. It was effectively the tip of the pencil of God where upon activating could surface in the lower dimensions. Human brains were said to not be capable of comprehending the divine space from which the Protolith emerged from where it plugged the tear as it manifested on the physical plane. Improper use of the relic could lead to tears into the fabric of reality and existence. (Deadpool: Secret Agent Deadpool v1 #5)

The home of the One Above All was the House of Ideas that externally resembled an ordinary home dwelling. (Avengers: No Road Home v1 #10) A Door served as an entry point into God's Realm that was held as the province of ultimate knowledge. (Fantastic Four v1 #511) There were, in fact, many such Doors with one being located on Long Island. The building was unusual in that it had no windows but this was because stories themselves were windows into reality. From within the House, stories were actually born and an infinite number of them were made about the tales of superheroes. This was because power and possibility filled the space of the House of Ideas. (Avengers: No Road Home v1 #10) It was tended to by two of the Children of Eternity that were older brother Then and younger sister Now. (Loki v3 #3)

Its chief enforcer was the Living Tribunal who ensured the balance of the cosmos. (Thanos: The Infinity Finale v1 #1)

Other agents for it were angelic beings that could make themselves appear as a manifestation of their master. (Infernal Hulk v1 #5)
