History

The Order of the Cryptic Masons was an ancient society that dated more than three thousand years ago where their ancestors lived during the time of King Solomon. This ancient ruler was noted for being both wise and powerful; possessing a wealth of treasures as well as a magical book known as the Key of Solomon. During the end of his reign, the majority of his treasure he decided to hide in the depths of Africa and enlisted the aid of twenty five Masons to accomplish this task. These individuals were responsible for creating King Solomon's Mines past the Laughing Rocks and deep within the Three Witch Mountains. Inside the volcano chambers was King Solomon's many treasures such as the Book of Genesis, the Dead Sea Scrolls, Sheba and the Book of Solomon. The area had been crafted to include the Chamber of Dead Kings from which the power of the Key of Solomon could be envoked and channeled through the Altar of Flames. Numerous alcoves were present by the walls that contained the dead remains of individuals from the time.

With their task complete, the mines became little more than a legend to humanity. However, the location of the mines was guarded by the descendants of the twenty five Masons who formed the Order of the Cryptic Masons. These individuals had a sworn duty to protect the secrets of King Solomon and survived through the generations into the 21st century. Its members passed their knowledge from father to son who were given secret amulets that identified each other. The duty of the Order of the Cryptic Masons was the protection of the map and the legend which was the means of locating King Solomon's Mines. Part of the legend was located in Morocco in an ancient Roman settlement that was dedicated to the mapmaker Ptolmey and watched over by a guardian from the Order. Another was present within the protection of another guardian Mason in Africa. A cipher was included in the map written in Hebrew that made use of a musical element known as the Song of Solomon which generated a magical map that showed the site of King Solomon's Mines.

One notable member of the Order was the father of Flynn Carsen who often told stories to his son about King Solomon's Mines though did not openly reveal his affiliation with the Masons nor the truth of the Mines. These stories were later drawn by a young Flynn Carsen who was unaware that it was in fact a secret method by his father to prepare him for his legacy. Before his death, the elder Carsen gifted Flynn his amulet that would identify him as a member of the Cryptic Masons. After a years service as a Librarian; Flynn Carsen was secretly given a map that led to King Solomon's Mines and tasked with preventing the abuse of the Book of Solomon.
