History
After the creation of the Defense of Humanity Act in 2161 as well as the events followed by the Great Flood, the Western parts of the United States succeeded from the government to form their own confederacy named Pacifica. This government embraced the new concepts of genetic engineering in order to cope with the changing environment, something that the newly formed Atlantic Alliance vehemently opposed resulting in tense hostilities between both factions.

Infantry types
Pacifican Light
The most basic type of soldiers within the Republic and consists of those soldiers that heard the call to protect their homelands and fight for General Nathan Sheridan. This resulted in numerous civilians volunteering for military service and serve as the bulk in the Pacifican armies. A vast majority are genetically modified but do not wish to enter into a major war though the young and idealistic are often anxious to volunteer for further enhancements in order to defend their homeland as well as their way of life. This makes them the most common type of infantry within the Pacific Dragoon Light forces.
They do not posssess any form of experience and have little training but make up for this in their dedication and beligerence as well as their eagerness. The Dragoon Light often volunteer for the more dangerous of missions which are often quite suicidal but are a tenacious foe as well as possess large numbers to throw at their enemies.
To aid them in battle, the Dragoon Light have been genetically enhanced to improve their reaction times as well as combat awareness. Their heightened senses allow them to remain calm even in the most of chaotic of battles. This allows them to not only identify threats but dodge enemies that are normally unavoidable. They do not wear the more specialized type of protective armor but do make use of the Pacifican rifle or the Atlantis Alliance bulldog weapons which allows them to fight enemies at ranged or in close quarters.
Pacifican Medium
The Medium type infantry are filled by veteran soldiers who are enlisted into the Pacifican armies to provide a level of experience to the mass of volunteer type Pacifican Lights. These soldiers are skilled and knowledegeable in the ways of war which allows them to bring their expertise to the military and serve as a more dangerous opponent. They were tasked to serve as armored infantry where they worked to defend important Pacifican bases and locations. This makes them an invaluable component to the Republic.
They are armed either with Invader shotguns or Pacifican rifles which, when combined with their skills, means they are equally adept at fighting at range or in close quarter engagements. Previous wartime experience means that they are capable of confusing their enemies with advanced tactics. To further add to their weaponry is a living suit of armor that encases the soldier in a second skin that heals any damages sustained on the battlefield. This allows the Medium infantry to shrug off light and medium weapon fire. A special carapace works to protect vital organ areas.
To compliment the armor, genetically modified organic fibers inside it increases its muscle mass giving them a greater level of endurance, strength as well as speed. Though they possess all these advanced abilities and protective armor, these soldiers are noted for a weak spot in the head which can result in an easy kill by Atlantic Alliance forces.
Pacifican Hydra
The Hydra were part of General Nathan Sheridans attempts at bringing back to life elements of the pre-War genetic program with the intention of creating soldiers that were genetically modified to be ideal assassins. After realizing that brute strength strength troops could only go so far against the Atlantic Alliance, he sought to create more mobile soldiers in the form of Hydras for the campaign. Whilst other troops sought to use genetics to keep them alive, the Hydra Medium were modified to possess an increased mobility on the battlefield and were outfitted with Genetic Jump Enhancers (Jackhammers) that gave them extraordinary prowess and agility on the battlefield which allowed them to execute incredible dives and multi-story jumps. These tactics also resulted in the unit becoming extremely difficult to damage with conventional forms of firepower and one that was able to traverse the battlefield in a short amount of time. Their specialized form of exo-suit were also designed to compliment their high degree of mobility and provided them with the highest degree of freedom of movement.
In addition to their deadly agility, the Hydra Mediums were also known to use Bangalore Rocket Launchers that were a weapon of devastating power that allowed these soldiers to decimate ground based troops through a simple jump and fire strategy. This made the difficult to hit and also widened the area of impact for their fired payload rocket. The Hydra Mediums skill and expertise led to them being a highly honored and revered unit within the Pacifican military.
Pacifican Invader
The Invaders were a more special type of Pacifican soldier that were used in addition to the Dragoon all purpose infantry units which have only been recently been added to the battlefield. They represent the latest in genetic engineering and weapon development produced by the Republic and were proven to be a force to be reckoned with on the field. As such, their exo-suits are the latest development and most advanced as the Pacifican scientists seek to produce an armor that not only protects its user but self repairs itself as well as monitors health signs in order to make a truly symbiotic living suit.
The armor was seemingly impenetrable and able to resist small arms fire making them useless on these soldiers though intelligence reports by the Atlantic Alliance suggests that there is one weak spot that can be exploited. In addition to their armor, they make use of Invader type shotguns as these infantry are suited for close quarter combat. Their close range weapon ensures that maximum damage is attained against the enemy forces resulting in carefully planned engagements by the Invaders as they plan to get into close proximity to their enemies.
The near impenetrable armor and desire for close quarter fighting means that the Invaders have a psychological impact on their enemies which is a further asset to the Republic of Pacifica's military forces.
Pacifican Sherman
Named after the German tank that was used in the 20th century, the Pacifican Sherman are infantry who have been genetically modified to make their bodies into living weapons making them the most formidable of enemies on the battlefield. It was noted that the Pacifican forces were desperate in the search for more worthwhile soldiers to use against their enemies. Little was known of their genetic makeup in terms of there human/animal origins but what is known is the green glow generated by their bodies is composed of a highly potent poison known as XP-61 which is fatal to 100% of Human cases.
The Sherman's were augmented through unknown means which resulted in their arms being replaced with an organic grenade launcher. This builtin weapon was capable of firing grenade type projectiles across a distance on the field. What makes them even more dangerous was the grenades being composed of both shrapnel and XP-61. While individually they are a deadly threat, together they are even more so as any wounds formed by the shrapnel results in exposure to the poison which lingers into the body until the victim suffers death. This results in extremely toxic wounds with both burn as well as genetic damage being an outcome.
In addition to this, the Shermans make use of an exo-suit that is similar to that of the Invader type making it only possible for to bring down these warrior with heavy firepower. However, these Pacifican soldiers contain one last weapon which is unveiled upon their death. When they are killed, the lack of electric activity from their nervous system begins to affect their stores of XP-61 which becomes more unstable. The result is spontaneous cpmbustion with a large explosion capable of killing any enemies in close proximity to the Sherman as their last attempt at bringing down their enemies.
Weapons
Pacifican Raptor Rifle
These were basic marksmanship combat specific semi-automatic rifle with a low ammo capacity and was the weapon of choice for Pacifican Mediums.
Pacifican Rhino
Rhino projectiles aggregated particulate matter around a microscopic biological core that was held in suspension in a molten basalt interior. The life form itself was genetically engineered to sense EM emissions from a human life-form that exponentially increased the amount of particular matter protecting it once the weapon fired. Once mobile, it sought human life-forms where it eventually exploded. The Rhino had a small magazine capacity and one difficulty was its ability to aim.
Technology
The Republic of Pacifica were known to make extensive use of genetics and organic technology amongst their forces.
Certain genetic enhancements allowed for Pacificans to disregard with verbal speech and "speak" in a more unique manner which was accomplished through subsonic frequencies. This allowed soldiers to communicate with one another without words and was an immense aid in the heat of battle.
A number of Pacifican soldiers made use of Hercules Strength Enhancers for their arms. This allowed soldiers to punch harder and much more quicker which was a direct result of the neuro connection to the system being a direct extension of the soldiers will.
The Pacificans were also known to employ biosuits amongst their forces which encased soldiers in a living suit of armor.
