Biography

Peter Hale was a male human werewolf born to the Hale Family who lived in Beacon Hills, California. He was the younger brother of Talia Hale and came to be the uncle of Derek Hale.

It was said that in his childhood that Peter would often break his own toys in fits of anger. Among the Hales, he was regarded as the level headed one and during his youth he was noted to had frequently 'watched over' his nephew Derek Hale. On one occasion, he even saved his life on time from a Hunter by catching an arrow before it could hit him. In that time, he helped hide Derek in the Nemeton's root cellar until they hunters had passed by them thus evading their pursuit. However, in reality, he spied on Derek for an unknown purpose with this being attributed to his desire to learn more about people so that he could use them to benefit himself in the future. Later on, Derek came to be seduced by Derek Argent who led a group of werewolf Hunters to the Hale house where they burnt it to the ground and killed many members of the family in the Hale House Fire that occurred 6 years ago. Peter managed to survive but was severely injured and was in a coma at Beacon Memorial for years where he developed a thirst for revenge. After awakening, he came to kill his niece Laura Hale who was the reigning Alpha werewolf in order to steal her powers.

In his Alpha form, he went out into the woods where he spied on Scott McCall and Stiles Stilinski who were looking for the remains of Laura Hale. After the two were separated, Peter came to stalk Scott and found him searching for his inhaler that fell in a pile of lives. It was then that Peter gave him 'the Bite' without his consent with this being due to his need to build a pack and gain strength in order to fulfil his ambitions.

Overview

Personality and attributes

It was eventually revealed that he was the mysterious Alpha werewolf that had been terrorising Beacon Hills after the murder of Laura Hale.

Noted for being somewhat vain, he felt that one would ban him from anywhere as he considered himself to be too good-looking. He had said that his ego was quite healthy and that appeals to it were a futile efforts.

Peter was shown to be highly intelligent and a master manipulator with a knack for reading people and getting under their skin to have them see things his way and be in agreement with him.

He had an older sister by the name of Talia Hale who had the Alpha of the Hale Pack. Peter saw his sister's belief in humanity and peace-orientated mindset as a weakness.

Hale was not a good person but his actions were driven towards ensuring the safety and prosperity of the pack. He placed an extremely high importance on protecting his pack from threats and did not care if he had to take the less moral road to achieve that goal. He judged an Alpha's worth by their willingness to kill threats to the pack before the threat was able to act on them. It was this trait that led him to see his sister and nephew as ineffective Alphas. Thus, he looked to ensure his family's power that he believed his status as an Alpha was rightfully inherited by him.

In the past, he was involved with a werecoyote and assassin named Corinne. She came to be pregnant with his child but the entire event was wiped from Peter's mind. This led to his daughter being Malia Tate who was raised by Henry Tate as his adoptive daughter.
