Pokemon

Pokémon is the collective name for 386 different (known) species of creatures, many attuned to elemental powers of nature such as fire, water and electricity, which can be trained and captured with Poké Balls. The term is a contraction of the words "pocket monster."
Pokémon are normally incapable of intelligible speech, only able to make animal noises and say their names or its derivatives. (For example, a Pikachu can only say "pikachu," "pika," "pi," and "chu"). However, with extensive training and force of will, it would seem some pokemon are capable of approximating human speech patterns. Wild pokémon are able to communicate through body language.
