The Pyxis, also known as the Box, was a dimension that featured in Clive Barker's Jericho.

Background

The Pyxis was a prison that was fashioned by God through which he banished his first creation known as the Firstborn. It was a reality or realm where the entity was forever forsaken but the creature would make numerous attempts at escaping though each time it was forced back into the Pyxis by seven warrior priests. However, while being thrown back into its timeless prison, the Firstborn takes a part of the earth and timeperiod with it which adds to the realm of Pyxis. As such, this region on Earth contains the inhabitants of various timeperiods all of who have been driven mad and distorted by the actions of the Firstborn.

Within the Pyxis, the normal rules of reality do not apply and those that call it home have to fight the same battle everyday. Time does not move and neither day or night applies within this dark realm with death itself being halted. Those that do get "killed" are simply engulfed by flies and reshaped into something that the Firstborn sees fit.
