Quist, a henchman of Emilio Largo, was tasked with keeping an eye on his "niece," Domino Derval. Largo also sent him to kill James Bond in his hotel room. Quist failed, but escaped. Upon returning to Largo's manor, Largo, disgusted by Quist's failure, had him thrown into the shark pool where he was eaten alive by Largo's pet tiger sharks.
