Hector Ramirez was a crusading television news anchor with Twenty Questions. Among the subjects of Ramirez's stories were the kidnapping of an Oktober Guard jet (a crime committed by Lord Chumley), the nature of Cobra's threat to world safety, the public disturbances created by (a false) Jem, and the escapades of the Earth Corps.

Ramirez was a recurring reporter character on Hasbro's toy-based shows in the 1980s, a sort-of parody of real-life newsman Geraldo Rivera. His presence in all series suggests they may exist in the same universe. The connection was confirmed in an interview with G.I. Joe story editor (and writer for Transformers, Jem and Inhumanoids) Buzz Dixon.
