Biography
Randall Spector was a male human who was born in the modern age where he was the brother of Marc Spector. (Hulk! v1 #17)
During these years, his father asked Marc to look out for his younger brother Randall and protected him from bullies at school. (Vengeance of the Moon Knight v1 #3)
Once grown, the two both joined the US Military and later became mercenaries. Except in various assignments for the CIA, the two brothers worked side by side on missions. (Vengeance of the Moon Knight v1 #3)
Around 10 years ago, he served as a fellow mercenary working alongside his brother though secretly began to sell out to the enemy. In this time, he came to kill Lisa Maloney who was a woman involved with Marc though she came to reveal her murderer's identity to the elder Spector. This saw Marc hunting Rand for two days and two nights where he struggled to kill his own brother. Their confrontation resulted in Marc throwing a grenade at Rand who seemingly died as a result. Rand brought the parchments to his fellow CIA agent Sandahl Swarn who had been involved in the CIA Operation: Cobra in order to behaviour condition agents. She stole technology to begin a scheme around taking on the alias of Nepthys after the goddess. Nepthys brainwashed a man into believing he was Randall and gave him plastic surgery to resemble him. By twisting his mind, he became the Hatchet-Man. (Marc Spector: Moon Knight v1 #3)
For a while, he came to watch his brother from the shadows. (Marvel Comics Presents v1 #25)
He went back to work and on another assignment in Egypt, working for a group of rebels on the border with Sudan, not knowing brother Marc was with the group and ended up getting shot and being left for dead among the rest swearing vengeance against Marc and Bushman. (Marc Spector: Moon Knight v1 #37)
Years later, Randall attempted to commit suicide but was saved by The Profile working for The Hand, and was convinced that he was the new avatar of Khonshu. Randall dubbed himself Shadowknight and attempted to get Marc's attention. First, he carried out a string of murders for Moon Knight to find him. He then attacked Moon Knight's pregnant girlfriend, Marlene, and caused a miscarriage. Marc then chased Randall to New Orleans, while Randall was looking for the Sapphire Crescent. He unmasked Shadowknight and discovered that it really was Randall, whom he thought had been killed by Punisher. Randall then managed to escape while Marc was still in shock and acquired the crescent. Meanwhile, Marc made a deal with Khonshu that he would be empowered if he killed for Khonshu. Marc found Randall and took the crescent from him and also managed to defeat Randall. However, many innocents in the crowd were killed and all of Marc's weapons had been discarded or broken. Randall strapped a bomb to himself and threatened to destroy the block and kill even more innocents, but Moon Knight, out of options, threw the Sapphire Crescent at his throat before he could pull the trigger, cutting Randall's magically enhanced skin and killing him, just as Marc promised Khonshu he would. Later on, his corpse was taken by the Blasphemy Cartel where the body was taken over by rebellious dead souls that reanimated it as a Revenant. As one of their agents, Spector was dispatched to eliminate Clea Strange and her mother the warlord Umar with them being attacked at the Sanctum Sanctorum. (Strange v3 #4)

Personality and attributes
At one point, he came to be known as a notorious serial killer called the Hatchet Man. In this identity, he used an off-the-shelf Halloween mask to hide his face. (Hulk! v1 #17) He later came to take the name of Shadow Knight when he attempted to become a champion of Khonshu. (Marc Spector: Moon Knight v1 #37)

Television
- In Moon Knight, a young Randall Spector appeared in the setting of the live-action television mini-series set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe where he was shown in the episode "Asylum" and was portrayed by actor Claudio Fabian Contreras. He was shown primarily in flashbacks with this version having died in a flooded cave that he and his older brother Marc found. As the latter survived, their embittered mother Wendy blamed him for Randall's death, which caused her to become abusive towards Marc, who consequently developed dissociative identity disorder and created Steven Grant to protect himself from her.
