Rosenthal, Mrs.

Mrs. Rosenthal was the mother of Joe Rosenthal and ex-wife of Richard. She had marital difficulties with her husband, possibly related to Richard's womanizing, and the couple divorced sometime during Joe's sophomore year in college. Feeling guilty, Mrs. Rosenthal began buying Joe all sorts of gifts, leading to competitive gifts being sent to Joe from both parents.
