Sam Young

Sam Young was Gotham City's District Attorney in the mid-21st Century. He seemed to be involved in a casual relationship with Commissioner Barbara Gordon. D.A. Young sought to outlaw genetic splicing, specifically the experiments being performed by Dr. Able Cuvier of the Chimera Institute, on the grounds that it was a "crime against nature" and that it increased teenage aggressiveness. It was for this reason that Dr. Cuvier sent his spliced minions to murder Young, but although they managed to knock him unconscious they were stopped by Batman before they could finish the job. Whether or not Young eventually succeeding in getting splicing outlawed is not known.
