A member of SPETSNAZ, Dragunov is considered the very symbol of fear on the battlefield whose overwhelming fighting prowess has earned him the title "The White Angel of Death". Involved in the investigation of an unknown body that fell to Earth in Siberia, Dragunov received special orders presumably regarding Devil Jin, and entered the King of Iron Fist Tournament Five in order to carry them out.
Russia was in complete disorder due to numerous internal conflicts and civil disturbances, all believe to be caused by the covert actions of Mishima Zaibatsu operatives. In order to suppress national unrest, Dragunov was busy fighting across the country. He was then called back by top Russian military command and ordered to infiltrate The King of Iron Fist Tournament 6 to crush the Mishima Zaibatsu.

Sergei infiltrated the tournament, but did not find the Devil. Before long the activities of the Mishima Zaibatsu were causing unrest in Russia. While Dragunov staged numerous intense battles to quell the unrest throughout his motherland, he received an order from the Russian Military high command to infiltrate The King of Iron Fist Tournament 6 and smash the Mishima Zaibatsu single-handedly. Once again, Dragunov finds himself heading to Japan.
Overview
Personality and attributes
In appearance, Sergei Dragunov was a human male of Caucasian descent who stood at a height of 190 cm, possessing a lean, well-muscled, and athletic physique. He was characterized by a pale, almost pallid complexion and sharp, gaunt facial features that gave him a cold and intimidating presence. His eyes were a striking blue, often framed by dark, heavy circles that suggested a perpetual lack of sleep or a grim intensity, while his hair was jet-black and styled in a slicked-back, orderly fashion. A notable feature was the thin, horizontal scar running across the bridge of his nose, which added to his battle-hardened aesthetic. Regarding his clothing, he was most famously depicted in a formal, high-collared white military shirt tucked into dark grey trousers, which were held up by a black belt. Over this, he wore a heavy, double-breasted dark blue or charcoal military trench coat that featured ornate gold buttons, red lining, and fur-trimmed cuffs and collar. He completed his ensemble with black tactical combat boots and matching black gloves, maintaining a rigid and disciplined posture that reflected his status as a high-ranking member of the Spetsnaz. Due to his reputation, he came to be known as the White Angel of Death.
Sergei was a cold, calculating, and completely impassive when fighting opponents. Aside from a few lines of dialogue, Dragunov is an elective mute, speaking only a few words throughout the entire series. This tends to either annoy, confuse, or unsettle other characters. He serves his motherland with utmost diligence and loyally follows orders when given. He also enjoys singing as a hobby, as seen in his win animations where he is humming while walking away from his defeated opponent.
Dragunov was defined by an unsettling and absolute silence, communicating almost exclusively through cold gazes and precise, lethal actions rather than spoken words. This stoicism earned him the moniker 'the White Angel of Death', as he maintained an unnerving level of emotional detachment even in the heat of brutal combat. He approached every mission with a calculating, professional discipline, viewing his participation in the King of Iron Fist Tournaments not as a quest for personal glory, but as a series of clinical objectives for the Russian military. Despite his terrifying reputation and his role as a relentless operative, he possessed a hidden, eccentric side that manifested in his private hobbies, such as a surprising passion for singing or building plastic models. However, he never allowed these personal interests to bleed into his public persona, remaining a silent and enigmatic figure who inspired dread in his opponents through his sheer lack of verbal communication and his singular focus on duty. His personality was marked by this sharp contrast between his mechanical efficiency as a soldier and the quiet, solitary whimsy he indulged in away from the battlefield.
Sergei was shown to be a stoic and unreadable figure who only focuses on the mission at hand. He shows no mercy towards his enemies or opponents.
He was feared in battlefronts throughout the world for his reputation as the White Angel of Death that was a name he earned through his sheer and overwhelming combat prowess.
Dragunov kept an ancient notebook with an eerie cover that was actually a list known and feared as the 'Angel of Death's List'.
Powers and abilities
He employed brutal grabs, vicious non-escapable counters, and CQC techniques, based on Russian Sambo.
Dragunov displayed a specialized combat proficiency rooted in Commando Sambo, a Russian military martial art that integrated grappling, throws, and striking techniques. He exhibited a high degree of physical strength and agility, allowing him to execute complex joint locks, bone-breaking submissions, and powerful mid-range strikes. His skill set included a comprehensive grappling game, featuring the ability to transition from initial attacks into unbreakable tackles and various submission holds. He demonstrated specialized defensive capabilities, such as the unique ability to reverse low-level attacks and counter high or mid-level punches and kicks. His offensive repertoire utilized long-limbed pokes for range control and aggressive rushdown maneuvers intended to overwhelm opponents with persistent pressure. Additionally, he showed familiarity with military equipment and tactical maneuvers, specifically through the use of tear gas grenades and long-range firearms as supplemental tools during specialized operations.
Sergei further displayed a clinical and methodical approach to combat, characterized by his ability to maintain absolute silence and emotional detachment while engaging opponents. He exhibited a high degree of technical skill in specialized groundwork, specifically the execution of rolling leg locks and cross-arm breakers designed to neutralize an enemy's mobility. His abilities included the use of "white-out" tactical maneuvers where he utilized low-profile movement to close distances rapidly before transitioning into high-impact grappling. He showed an advanced understanding of psychological suppression, using his imposing presence and lack of vocal communication to unsettle his adversaries. His physical capabilities were such that he could perform "blizzard" strikes—a series of high-speed, heavy-handed punches—while simultaneously preparing for defensive counters. Additionally, he demonstrated specialized training in military infiltration and the handling of classified reconnaissance data, performing his duties with a level of cold efficiency that earned him the moniker "The White Angel of Death" among his peers.
